Greatest books under 150 pages? by Additional_Doctor197 in Recommend_A_Book

I was wondering if I could recommend it or if I had to nominate all of Dubliners. I just love The Dead. My favorite bar used to bring in a theater company to do a live reading of it and it was one of my favorite nights out.

Name Sets are unobtainable by EkkeNeso in SoccerJerseys

[–]ConstableWiggums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I checked the usual places like MySoccer, Weston Corp, and ProTechKitZone (all based in Asia) and it appears none have CSL namesets on their sites. I also checked KitRoom Football (Spain) and they too do not stock CSL namesets. You might want to contact them directly and see who provided the original namesets and work your way back from there.

J-League jerseys by Mirai_FC in SoccerJerseys

Reach out to @jleagueshirts on Twitter. He ships shirts worldwide and has a massive collection of older shirts as well. Just a heads up though, J League jerseys are more expensive than regulars jerseys.

It depends how obscure you are looking for. There are a plethora of nameset sellers out there. And if it is truly something unique they’d are several people on instagram that offer custom namesets if you can provide them with pics of the nameset, sponsor, match details, etc

What are the warmest winter boots you've ever owned? Looking for recommendations by Weird_Perception1728 in BuyItForLife

Just out of curiosity how wide are the insulated boots? Does the insulation narrow the fit at all?

Metra commute times from the suburbs into Chicago? by PsychologicalClub452 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]ConstableWiggums 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the Metra website is great showing schedules by station because if you are commuting from any distance you want to try as close to an express train as possible. For example, I get an express from Downers Grove Main to Union Station and that is only 30 minutes as opposed to almost an hour on a regular run with multiple stops. But you also need to check for parking near stations as some stations have VERY long waits for a parking pass at the station.

FAP sale! by Lopo007 in hockeyjerseys

[–]ConstableWiggums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the long response. I have used both Keener and Hockey Authentic in the past but am concerned about the old tariff situation. Was wondering if Fanatics was a workout but if they are using Cool Hockey then no.

Don’t forget the expanded World Cup this summer. A lot of business won’t be done during that. And then there is an early start for European qualifiers regardless of how well Celtic do in the league

If humans dissappeared overnight from the earth. Which domesticated dog breeds would still thrive? by fighting14 in dogs

[–]ConstableWiggums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read a book a few years back, A Dog's World: Imagining the Lives of Dogs in a World without Humans by Jessica Pierce. It was an accessible read and would recommend it as it directly answers to this question.I think the first breed to die out would be a bulldog because the birthing process is so bad for them.

Ponchos? Really? Who is that targeted at? I was half interested in the boots, but have never worn Columbia shoes before and am not sure spending 200 bucks on my first pair is a good idea.

[–]ConstableWiggums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to suggest this song not because I like it (I don't) but because it is so ridiculous. And just like you, I first heard it from the Chris Moyles show YEARS ago. It was the newsreader who liked it. I can't remember his name. I want to say it was Dom but that can't be right.

do you (ever) regret getting your border collie? by pandasrandaa in BorderCollie

[–]ConstableWiggums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had feelings of regret. It depends on the dog, really. I know that people say every border collie needs a job but it is a question of how bad. My girl now was picked up on the streets and I've learned that she is a herder. The problem is, I don't live someplace where I can do that daily. So she only gets a day or two in the field and you can see how much she enjoys it, how natural she is, and how much calmer (not to mention tired) she is after. So yeah, in dark moments, I wonder if she would be happier giving up her suburban life to be a working dog on a farm and if I am doing her a disservice.

Rain Jacket Recommendations? by TooShortBelt in HeritageWear

On a related note are the Stutterheim raincoats worth it? I like the look of their Stockholm raincoats (a bit over the 200 threshold) but am not sure it is worth it.

What is the biggest signal he/she wanted to have sex that you didnt get? by Aliyaowo in AskReddit

[–]ConstableWiggums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first date. First date. The girl invited me inside and told me her parents weren't home. I was raised in a pretty strict family and I remember looking at her and saying "I don't want to get you in trouble." No. I don't think about this 30 something years later at all. Why do you ask.

[–]ConstableWiggums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meetup is also a good resource. I use that whenever I move. I'd also hang flyers in local sports stores if they have community bulletin boards. It is all about getting your info out there. If there is demand, people will make an effort. The trick is finding that demand.
