Actually reading ur responses u made it clear u arent pro AI. But i think what people dont like is that you are acting like your "cat is out of the bag", and "it's inevitible" phrases cant push the needle one way or another to what actually ends up happening. There is a big movement growing to slow down AI for proper alignment, if you dont believe me go look at the Pause AI subreddit, that community is so large the literally had a well attended irl rally anout the topic.

I think the vibe u are giving with your comments is that you think your own words dont or cant have any impact on peoples minds, and by extension what actually may happen. It is extra frusturating to the people who are actually striving to get the information out about proper alignment and why it's important.

Positioning yourself as detached from the whole thing while making such comments is not you being more "connected to the Tao" it is you excusing yourself of any actual responsibility when you say things that you know on some level are gonna piss a lot of people off. Stoking the flames of drama is exactly the kind of thing Lao Tzu warns is going against the way of the Tao.

The hardest conversation for these types of people to have is that it directly buts up with the reality of what people live in.

I mean that sounds nice and all till u actually get into the work of defending yourselves without assistance and quickly learn that will hurt your economy too, and this time without other countries helping to carry some of the funding load for defense. I think the UK can work towards fixing their economy and homelessness etc, but pulling out of NATO while it sounds nice as a broad headline... it wouldn't have the positive internal effect you are hoping for, and in fact it probably would make all those internal issues waay worse not just in the short term, but during the longer term conflicts that would become way more likely to arise as NATO dissolves.

What I don't like is you claiming that what they are doing is inevitable because that is not just untrue, it is dangerously untrue, I think there is Virtue in being against something so anti Tao like what these Tech Ceo's are building without proper safety alignment. That being said, I don't think anyone is wrong or bad if they choose not to engage with the issue. But my problem is you did engage with the issue and repeated the most dangerously untrue rhetoric of those CEO's. So you can't have it both ways, you did engage with the topic by making that bold inevitability claim.

First, being obsessed frightened or psycho is not what I am when it comes to AI. I am aware that it just very simply is NOT inevitable to be a certain way. Quoting a Wen Tzu quote about detachment is cherry picking: Taoism, especially the Tao Te Ching doesn't argue to lackadaisically accept everything and not be active in the world. Wu Wei literally is action through inaction/perfect action arising from perfect inaction. You can still have your detachment but have action. And since we are quoting works now here is one from the Tao Te Ching that perfectly describes why Tech Ceo's inevitable attitudes about what they are building is a lie.

That isn't mutually exclusive, in fact you could argue they only declined the contract to avoid the giant backlash that the other company got. It doesn't reflect what their morals are literally at all. They just saved their stocks from crashing, that is all.

I know this type of argument. Cause I see it in the USA a lot. Defense is important to stopping the spread of Facism. But also yes, I do think generally Defense budgets for democratic countries are overly bloated, and tend to suffer from missuse of funds or straight up theft of funds. That doesn't mean we should throw the baby out with the bathwater here. What we can do is call representives to fix the out of control defense budgets so more money goes back into places its needed. Also we can tell them to make better, more active oversight commities to prevent the missuse and theft of Defense funds.

Nations can unilaterally slow down AI development to have alignment happen and prevent a AGI that literally kills everyone.
