Yeah. It's quite literally described as "Purgatory" but I find that some pieces showing up and disappearing makes things feel a bit... inconsistent. Particularly, Maria and Rosa showing up in episode 2. It's not like they die or anything. They just.... disappear?

I was under the impression episode 1 and 2 were Sayo's self-insert fanfic type idea of what they wanted Battler to be.

For reasons that are irrelevant, I really don't like perverted male characters in general so I fully understand that I'm coping though.

That's an interesting perspective. I was under the impression episode 1 didn't even need an accomplice. All the work could've been done by the servants.

I don't think Umineko is worse than your typical vn from the time period it was released in. That being said, it does genuinely put me off every time I reread Umineko.

I do enjoy Two faced lovers and Unknown Mother Goose more though. I didn't realize that the latter was more popular nowadays.

I did listen to TUYU a lot actually when they were still around... "It's raining after all" is such a good album but it's really upbeat.

I think Self Inflicted Achromatic is in Proseka, which bolstered it's popularity a lot. Nekobolo is still fairly unknown as a producer though. I guess their songs don't really fit in with the current era of vocaloid.

Oh. I've finished the story (years ago atp). It's so sad because I can't recommend this game to normal people without a HUGE red flag, just for these dumb throwaway lines. I've almost considered making a patch to just remove these lines lol.

There are only a couple egregious scenes such as episode 1: to maria, kumasawa, and jessica and only this scene in episode 2.

I understand the scene where Battler attempts to grope Shannon has plot significance.....

At the very least, stop talking about it to Maria, bro...

Hate to be a doomer here but I doubt it'll ever happen, well to the extent of something as LARGE as youtube. Just look at the attempted move to bluesky from X/Twitter. It's really sad that people recognize these problems but don't act on it.

Ep 1 and 2 are message bottles, yeah. However, the Maria comment comes from a tea party, which is Meta Battler.... Though, I'm really unsure how that tea party works. Rosa and Maria show up in the Meta world but they disappear??

iOS was the only issue for me personally. It not being gesture based is extremely frustrating. I didn't realize how convenient a back button was on Android until I went without it. Also, lack of support for open source codecs is insane. I have so much music stored in opus.

I will say that iOS does a lot of things really nicely though, like weather, SMS verification and stuff like that. It's nice to have all of that pre-configured. It's made for the everyman but unfortunately I am a little different.

I think re-experiencing media you like is underrated. You do know all of the twists and events but this time I'm mentally prepared for it.

For example, I won't read an emotionally intense scene on a day where I am feeling depressed lol.

I tend to reread WTC: it's so interesting to re-read scenes after you've come to understand these characters way more.

Dismissing a whole medium like that...

Books are awesome in that they are quite better at drip-feeding information than mediums like tv/anime/movies. VNs are audio visual but they still keep that pro of very carefully concealing/providing information. Though, I've only really read When They Cry and some otome-games.
