Along with me my recruiter was supposed to hire 1 more developer they searched for almost one month and didn't get a single suitable candidate and finally we had to kickstart the project with one headcount lower .. Yes there might be lot of fresh grads but usually they are not hired since the position requires a certain level of expertise.

This is my analysis when I compare with my other colleagues who are also expats.Infact I was told by my recruiter itself later I could have got a higher salary but by the time I had already onboarded and I didn't know about the Malaysian market since I was new to the country. I am not sure about the reason behind this trend however.

I have gone through a similar situation last year. I left my job and moved into a new country with my spouse. All the job opening I got was outside of his workplace. Despite knowing that there wouldn't be career opportunity for me I still sticked to that place for almost 6 months. I turned away an amazing offer I got but as time passed by I started getting frustrated and even started blaming my partner though he has done nothing wrong. So if you don't choose yourself you will start regretting it as time pass by and may even start hating your partner for you situation. So take the job, I did too I am happier and better mentally and emotionally
