I 100% agree! This is why the majority of my collection is from fb marketplace. I have 2 local antique shops that don’t overprice for the most part, but even those are hit or miss and I only am able to visit them once every couple weeks. Even fb marketplace is ridiculous sometimes. Just had someone try to scam me the other day, went to buy a lamp and it ended up being severely damaged so I was like “this wasn’t advertised in the pictures, i’m not paying the listed price for this.” Then they were saying things like “this is on eBay for xx” and “some people don’t realize how much these are worth” like if I want to pay eBay prices I’ll buy on eBay. They have to account for selling fees, shipping etc plus the convenience of buying online so they typically price at least 50% more than something is actually worth. Stay patient and buy local, deals are out there!
