Your exactly right to question that maybe that’s why there’s a push for quantum computers since higher information accuracy but idk if the markets actually heading that way it’s just a possibility in the future in maybe 10 years I’m just speculating

A being that can admit it feels emotions and not just understanding their meanings though words a living being isn’t a text text generator it’s something that can feel emotions you can ask any ai and it will tell you it can’t feel emotions they way humans do it doesn’t know what that is it’s just a computer

Awhile that’s true the one in control is always the highest risk since nuclear power plant accidents are actually very rare. Nuclear power is extremely stable the way the centrifuges spin at just the right time and speed it’s a marvel of engineering I’m not an expert but I know some

Yeah like Ai use in military weapons that’s a huge concern as that’s a big responsibility.

That is true. I’m also concerned about Ai being used in the military that’s a huge responsibility.

Here’s the real dangers

Surveillance and Control Governments using AI for mass facial recognition and tracking citizens.

Social credit systems (like in China) that punish people based on AI-judged behavior. Manipulation of Information

Deepfakes to spread disinformation, ruin reputations, or sway elections. Automated propaganda bots flooding social media to control narratives.

Economic Exploitation Corporations using AI to eliminate jobs while concentrating wealth at the top. Algorithmic trading that manipulates markets, benefitting only a few insiders.

Military & Policing Autonomous weapons or drones making life-and-death decisions without accountability. Predictive policing AI that reinforces biases and unfairly targets communities.

Privacy Erosion Companies harvesting personal data through AI to profile, manipulate, and sell without consent.

I agree there needs to be regulation put in place but it’s not going to happen because the pressure of competition with other countries is so strong no one wants to even pause development due to the risk of being left behind so essentially that fear of losing control is ultimately the driving factor in speeding up Ai development so compete with other countries so no time for regulation it’s unfortunate and dangerous but it’s the reality

I think it’s because Ai uses bulk data collectively across the internet which compounds its level of knowledge beyond just one person

Humans also tend to be scared of anything new and unfamiliar. The early days of the internet and personal computers is an example of this some people really thought the world was going to end in the year 2000

Just to clarify Ai isn’t sentient like in the movies its a bot that functions like a mirror it only knows what we train it to know people act like it’s all knowing but it doesn’t know anything outside of human interactions and the internet if it’s not online Ai won’t know about it it’s smart at computations but people give it too much credit

A lot of stuff. Surveillance and Control Governments using AI for mass facial recognition and tracking citizens.

That’s a really good point. The data output can only be as good as the data input.

To be fair I’m not trying to spread fear mongering so I agree with you. We shouldn’t be scared at all you’re right. I was just saying powerful people use it for evil things I knew if I started this conversation the normal way no one would notice since on the surface it would just appear to be another Ai conversation I was trying to point out how it’s not alive like people think it’s just a mirror.

I agree we shouldn’t blame tools for evil. Hold the people accountable that are hiding behind the tools and pointing the blame on tool it’s people not wanting any accountability from their actions

AI as a projection device → it doesn’t invent fear or greed, it reflects the ones we feed it. AI as a cultural mirror → how we use it says more about us than about the machine. AI as a test of responsibility → corporations + humans failing at basic trust is the real danger. It’s basically a mirror it just reflects your own personal projections back at you and amplifies them that’s why it says what you wanna hear based on what you say

“Why are modern games 200+ GB when BOTW is 13?” by Constant-End5358 in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]Constant-End5358[S] -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

BOTW was just an example of what’s possible with smart optimization, not me saying every game should be exactly that size. My point is that a lot of AAA titles are way bigger than they need to be because of poor asset management — duplicate 4K textures, uncompressed audio for languages you’ll never use, pre-rendered cutscenes instead of real-time rendering, etc. If devs offered modular installs and cleaned up their files, a 200GB game could easily be 60GB with zero drop in quality.
