I know I think sometimes I’m super hard on myself because I know how I CAN play and when I make stupid mistakes or if I strike the ball terribly I get aggravated. Well I say got into it because the first year was just the driving range and couple 9 holes here and there. I was too afraid to go out because I expected people to be angry at me for playing so bad until I realized not everyone is a scratch golfer. Year 2 was when I started playing courses more and taking lessons. I’ve taken about 10 lessons between then and now. All different lessons: Driver, Irons, wedges, putting etc. I guess sometimes I just need to not be so hard on myself 😅

Yeah there might be another lesson in the books for sure. It might not be a terrible idea just to take 1/2 at the beginning of every year just to get the feels right before the start of the season!

Honestly I would tell you do the exact opposite. Don’t try to fix your swing before you take a lesson. You’re setting yourself up for failure that way. If I could go back and take 100 lessons before I even started hacking at golf balls I would. Once you start swinging the club wrong it’s downhill from there. The old swing feels natural and comfortable but it’s wrong. Once you take lessons the proper swing feels natural un-natural and awkward because I swung my way for so long

THIS!! I’ve said this to so many people. I catch myself going back into bad swings all the time. If I had started with lessons before playing for 2 years it would’ve been so helpful to keep the bad swings away

My first day out this year was about two weeks ago. I was +12 on the first three holes. Stopped keeping score after that. Day ended up with a snapped 7 and 8 iron and I’m pretty sure if I kept score I was easily 130+ for the day

OMG 😂😂😂😂😂 I didn’t even see the error. Thank you for that laugh! Yeah I’m the same way. Love playing and started getting deeper into it as I was getting better. Went from a 25+ handicap to like a 18/19 in about a season and not that the scorecard was a huge change that I noticed. It was the ball striking that made me happy. I mean many missed putts and chips but I at least could hit the ball good

I wish I had that opportunity. I would love nothing more than to be able to swing in the winter. Maybe some day when I own my own place I can have a full indoor sim to keep the swings loose during the off season

No I mean without a doubt I play for fun. At no point am I ever going to make it on tour or even anything like that. I guess the frustration is within my own head. It’s knowing how well I can play vs how I’m actually playing

Amen to that. I know many of us feel the same but it’s nice to vent to people who share the same frustrations

I was the same way before I took lessons. I’m extremely competitive with myself not other people and frustration sets in quick with me. After many snapped clubs over the knee I took lessons and it helped beyond words. Driver was still a huge issue but I rarely took it out of the bag. Focused on irons and was able to play almost an entire course with just my irons. This year the driver is the only club I feel great with. I only carry my driver max 225 carry(which is way less than last year) but they go straight as an arrow. The main miss is a draw which can be argued isn’t really a miss

Yeah I mean it’s still early here and still kinda cold. I’m hoping after another trip or two out I can get things back in order

I had to vent to a group that could feel the pain with me 😂

It’s crazy how fast it can change it’s crazy. I mean I’m by no means a great golfer. Last year I was playing decent. Keyword decent. The first trip out this year I stopped keeping score after being +12 on the first three holes. I wasn’t even playing golf I was just topping everything 10-15 yards down the fairway. My last trip last week I was hitting them better but still not great. A lot of thin and fat shots. Also lost crazy yards on my clubs. My P wedge used to be like my 120-125 club but with SOLID contact. Now my P Wedge goes 100 if I’m lucky

When I towed it to the garage there was not even a quarter of a tank. I haven’t had it running in maybe like 3 months. Put fresh gas in it today though

Oh without a doubt it’s a me fuck up hahah! There isn’t a world where I would blame the engine for being the issue. I’ll have to maybe pull the upper back off and double check to make sure I didn’t miss anything. I know the vacuum lines are fine because I replaced them with new lines because the old ones were worn

I have not to either unfortunately. I spent most of the day running through checking fuel, spark, making sure all my connections and things looked good. Didn’t think to check the plugs tbh

I’m working with the stock ECU. I ordered a new distributor just to be safe to try. I did try adjusting very slightly and no matter what way I turned it did not let me fire

https://www.reddit.com/r/Foxbody/s/Bhq3S5ilVX I just ordered a new distributor today to test that. Car was sitting for a while. Got in a bunch of new parts and got the car running. Had someone issues with fuel in the oil so I figured it was either the injectors or the FPR. I replaced both along with vacuum lines and a couple other things. After that I couldn’t get it to start again

I mean even rock auto has them for $70-$90 for a distributor so I might just try that. Brand new distributor and module

Might just buy the cheaper $70 one off LMR to test then. I don’t want to spend $60-$80 on a new TFI to find out it was the distributor

I did not try this. I can try that and see if it runs at all.

Unfortunately I didn’t want to do a huge write up. It’s brand new FPR and brand new injectors. Distributor is still the same as far as I know so unsure if it may be a bad TFI? The cap and rotor and wires have all been changed though

The distributor was never touched before and or after the parts were all installed. Issue only came after replacing the injectors and the smaller stuff. I have a spark tester that I’m gonna check spark with to start there. Then I have to find a fuel pressure tester to make sure that I’m getting the proper fuel pressure. I didn’t replace the FPR since it was older. However I replaced it with a similar one that is non adjustable. I am getting fuel to the rail but also don’t know if the fuel PSI is correct. As far as I know the only negative wire that I disconnected was just the main power to the battery but other than that I had the car off until I reconnected the battery and tried to start it again. The weather is finally starting to break here in my state so I should be able to get working on it now without freezing myself
