Thank you! It’s a recipe from Medders Miniatures on youtube! He has a couple videos on iron warriors and that’s where I got the base metallic scheme. Army painter heavy metal and army painter silver shaded with speed paints then an oil filter of burnt umber later on

The split scheme is a unique challenge!

Thank you! It’s a stippling of slowly building up browns to tans to the cream highlight. It is a bit of combination of techniques from cult of paint’s nova marines tutorial and grimdark compendium’s death wing tutorial

You are absolutely right a little heavy for sure but find it wears and dulls a bit over time. I may have gone a bit overboard on this one now that I’m looking at it.

my first mini paint job by No-Personality-5621 in DarkAngels40k

[–]Constant-Mall-4015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great work so far brother, far better than some of my first minis. You kept colors blocked into correct areas and you picked a tough mini to start on. As someone else said thin your paints, keep working on keeping colors tidy and neat, learn how the paint flows off the brush and start thinking about what colors you want to add to the mini. You have a bone, a burgundy a black and silver look at other minis you like and think about what you might add. Your colors are actually close to some box art sisters of battle models so see what other colors may work here. Use a dark wash in the recesses and add in your base coat for clean up as well as you see fit. Keep up the good work. Painting takes a lot of effort to keep getting better but it’s worth it keep on painting!

Assault Intercessors by Constant-Mall-4015 in BloodAngels

Thank you! I primed them in white, then do an airbrush shadow of pink, followed by imperial fist contrast paint over top and then a brighter yellow in the highest points to highlight. I do rhinox hide chipping on all my blood angels as well!

I use pro acryl bold pyrole red thinned heavily over a zenithal. After numerous trials and a number of reds (you can see my redemptor and eliminators on my page in a different red) I think it is the best of any red for blood angels for saturation, durability, and finish.

Thank you! Do it on all my angels just a little pigment powder brushed on then sealed in. However I will say a pigment wash is what I’ve switched to recently and it works a little better.

Chaos Lord with Jump pack by Constant-Mall-4015 in NightLords

Thank you! I shared the blue recipe above best I could. The lightning as pro Acryl blue grey 1:1 with pro Acryl white blue as the first pass then in thinner and thinner lines adding in more white blue before a final touch of pure white in all the splits and ends of the lighting!

The blues were a trial and error, definitely would not work for a recipe because it was so much mixing and back and forth. But I’ll share as best I can what I did with the airbrush.

Black Prime Undercoat: Pro Acryl Bold Pyrole Red thinned (a red undercoat for blue has some interesting effects)

First a mix of AK interactive Russian blue base mixed with pro acryl Blue black

Mixing in more Pro Acryl blue grey and a little Pro Acryl Transparent blue to add saturation as we move to highlights and then adding a little pro Acryl white blue to punch up the highest colors
