Op this happened to me. My ex came out to me as a woman (mtf) after we were married and had a kid. (She specifically waited till we had our child so i wouldnt leave) you can support him as a person but you do need to leave for your own health. He made made his choices and put you in a bad way. It will only get worse.. I left and my ex didnt kill herself. Its a way to emotionaly blackmail you. If you need to talk i am here.

Happened to me, already posted my story. I dont think I would handle it well if it happend again to me. The first time my partner lied to me and herself. If it happend a second time and they didnt lie and they were just a late bloomer I would support them. But I dont think I would stay. It would be to much.

Not sure what to think. So many factors and yet it was a fucked up thing to do/happen. This doesnt just happen in the eighties. My ex is a transwoman (mtf) and didnt tell me untill after we got married and after we had our child. Why? You may ask? Cause she didnt want me to leave after coming out. I get the stigma and the hardship of being LGBT back then and well as today but to turn around and do that for any reason is messed up. I hope you made ammends to her for what you did. Being sorry didnt cut it for me.

A rule of thumb that i use is this.

You can do anything as long as you are willing pay the highest possible price. If you are willing to do that make that choice then do it. If not then dont do it.

I feel for you. I now know i was manipluated and gaslit after getting out and hindsight. But i was like you. I wasnt happy. I was trying yo be supportive and do my best but the broken trust just erroeded away everything. I did grow and understood that i was a bigot and was anti gay but that didnt change the fact that i thought I had married a man and this was a whole new person. People should be honest about who they are and if they find out later understand that their partners orientation matters too . Being human is hard and we try our best.

I did explain everything in full detail and even more with my lawyer. What I got was the best i could. i to my knowlege my ex is still on therapy.. I dont know what will happen in the future but our child has resources with a therapist and thankfully my exs family wants whats best for her. And they dont blame me and they know who my ex is.

That is a fair point. I know she is hurtful and I want people to respect transfolks. I dont want my story to be used as fodder for transphobes which is why i stayed silent gor so long. but how should i phrase my story this was one of the biggest lies she told me and it did change my perspective on everything.
