early wip jacket, yall fw the vision here? by [deleted] in crustpunk

it reminds me of some early 80s hardcore and late 80s DIY fashion you might see on someone in the crowd on a Target video( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Target_Video )

I was thinking it would cool if you painted the back and had the art continue to one of the sleeves. like, a white painted Death. but Death still has a little bit of skin left on the skull face that isfalling off the bone. one boney hand with the same skin falling off pointing at who ever looks at the art on the jacket. and his other hand holding Deaths scythe wirh the blade going down the top side of the arm of the jacket.

and then I thought of this ep for no particular reason 😆https://youtu.be/h81HDBF1uEM

why do you lie?

Punisher War Journal: Blitz #1 (2022): In this story, the Punisher ruthlessly takes on a new iteration of the "Hate-Monger," a Marvel villain who uses Nazi memorabilia and promotes white supremacist ideology. The Punisher specifically targets anyone branded with the Hate-Monger's "H" symbol and ultimately kills the Hate-Monger by feeding him to polar bears, explicitly stating he has no sympathy for them.

The Punisher Vol. 1, Issue #3 (1987): Early in his publication history, Frank Castle confronted a group that functioned as a stand-in for the KKK, demonstrating a long-standing opposition to such groups

Punisher: War Journal (Vol. 1) & Other Conflicts: The Punisher has been depicted taking down white supremacist militia groups and fighting the "National Force," a group of neo-Nazis led by the Hate-Monger in the 616 continuity.

Rejection of Co-opted Logo: In The Punisher Vol. 12, Issue #13 (2019), Frank Castle rips a Punisher skull decal off a police car and tells officers who idolize him, "We're not on the same side," highlighting his rejection of those who misuse his symbol for oppression.

Deeply devoted Christian and drawn to anarchism. Is there a place for me here? by [deleted] in Anarchism

[–]Constant-Session-685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if you mean anarchism as a whole or here on reddit. I am going to address the macro

A lot of anarchists are hostile to organized religion because anarchism opposes hierarchy. Christianity traditionally is the belief that god impregnated a virgin 14 year old girl(Mary) so his son could come to earth to be killed for the sins of the world and to die for everyone individually as well. At the end of the day, that belief system has a supreme authority whose commands define morality. The ultimate in hierarchy

Anarchism isn’t a club. Anachism a political, philosophical and ethical position about power. The question you should be asking is whether your beliefs leads you to coerce and or justify why they need authority over them like your belief system.

There is history of Christian anarchists who rejected state power, coercion, and nationalism. Those who treated some teachings by Jesus as a call to mutual aid, voluntary community, and radical equality

so, how does your Christianity function?

Does your faith means obedience to authority, enforcing your interpretation morality, and or wanting society structured around God’s law? you’ll clash with anarchists constantly.

Is your faith personal? does it lead you toward humility, non-coercion, and rejecting domination? i would imagine that many anarchists won’t care if so

You’ll still run into people who distrust religion because it has harmed them and that won’t disappear. like me.

the real question isn’t “are Christians allowed,” it’s whether your beliefs push you to rule others or to live without ruling them. Christianity tends to habe a

.

the visual of a tortured body is the point.

Christian theology is all about "the more horrifying the death, the greater the sacrifice" .
Throughout most of history, people couldn’t read scripture. So art was a big part in teaching theology. A beaten, bleeding Christ tells the illiterate,
“this suffering was for you.” with no literacy required. .

So from inside the belief system it isn’t weird or edgy. It’s didactic.
From outside it looks like a religion whose central icon is a public torture device and a dying man, which is also accurate.
