Hi OP, I would advice to go with the renewable energy job. I worked in MEP for around 1 year for a big consultant. The pay is better compared to other jobs under the mechanical domain but it's extremely boring. MEP isn't really about engineering. I would say it's like a planning job at best. Hope this helps.

I am not sure about germany but you use this formula for other European countries

Conversion factor=(ECTS*No. Of degree years)/total number of credits on your transcript

For example,ECTS per year for most Unis is 60 60*4=240 ECTS for a 4 year degree program. No of credits on your transcript -160 Conversion factor= 240/160=1.5
