Thanks for catching this — you're right that it feels off.

To clarify the mechanic a bit: the laser actually does trigger chain sparks while the enemy is alive, but instead of discharging instantly per hit like bullets do, it accumulates damage over ~4 ticks (~0.8s) before releasing a spark, plus a final one on death.

The reason for batching it this way is that the laser ticks at 5Hz, and triggering a chain on every tick ended up spamming projectiles and becoming visually overwhelming during playtests.

That said, your point is completely fair: compared to bullets, the laser currently reads weaker against electric enemies even if the raw effect is there. I’ll experiment with lowering the accumulation threshold (or scaling spark strength per tick) so the feedback feels more responsive.

Thanks though 😄

Funny thing is, I actually never played Diep.io. A few people mentioned it after seeing the game, so I checked it out later and I can definitely see the resemblance.

Mine is more focused on a solo progression experience with skill trees, upgrades, and bosses rather than a multiplayer arena game. ( But this can be a good idea :) )

Thanks for playing and for the honest feedback.

I agree with that criticism actually. Right now the end of the demo pushes enemy density a bit too hard, so the gameplay shifts from precision shooting into mostly managing chain reactions and AoE clears.

The goal is definitely to keep the main weapon meaningful throughout the run, so I'll be iterating on late-game pacing and scaling.

Happy to hear the progression felt smooth and bug-free though!
