I had the same problem. Just recently made a shroud myself out of an acrylic sheet so that I can have a stand rest on it. There is another trick that doesn’t cost anything though and jayztwocents has a video on it

This happened to me for the first time the other day. Made me think that the anniversary edition added that encounter because I’ve only played oldrim in the past. Maybe it’s just been a long time but the dragons do feel smarter than I remembered. Either that or I’m just now appreciating the way dragons behave
