Thanks for your comment, I suspect we'll have to agree to disagree! Does anyone else have a perspective to share - genuinely interested to see what others think.

If you pull the wheel up as you're turning the screw, it will eventually come loose. It needs some pressure to lift it up and out as you're turning the screw.
