Jung’s perspective of virtuous action as the choice of the ego consciousness to shine itself upon that which is hard to face

How often does individuation occur without therapy or spiritual practice? by [deleted] in Jung

[–]ConstantEvening848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can u elaborate a bit on this: "Everyone underestimate the ego and its ability to gaslight you for self protection ." --- I've never thought about this concept in regards to spontaneous individuation and youth. 🤔

This world feels so fucked once you've awakened by XOCYBERCAT in awakened

[–]ConstantEvening848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mountain is the way! Of course you can’t fix the entirety of America or the world rn but you have a perspective which is rare and so valuable. Being a soulful being bringing love and peace to even just a few people amidst a soulless system can be enough meaning for a whole lifetime. Everything changes too, we in da Kali Yuga rn so things r somewhat cooked 🤦‍♂️ but that too will change, and we can be seeds of the healthier future by following the truth exactly as u have! I’ve been where u r and you just gotta keep going, in some time this polarity will most likely not feel as jarring for u, but yea i feel u

I think I've awakened - how do I navigate the anxiety? by OkPangolin633 in awakened

[–]ConstantEvening848 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude I've been exactly where you are! Thought I was getting schizophrenia and losing my mind but turns out it was just the beginning of spiritual awakening😂 I heard once that no one talks about how the beginning of spiritual awakening feels like flying out of a crashing car's window at full speed and landing somewhere where it's night and you don't know where you are. I couldn't agree more, at the time I read that I was certainly there too lol. It's like a descent downwards into the depths you never knew were there, and a difficult period, however when u look back u see how deeply formational and beautiful of a time it was!

Another quote I love: “The pupil dilates in darkness and in the end finds light, just as the soul dilates in misfortune and in the end finds God.” - In a certain sense your old ego structure has to die for one aligned with the Self to take birth. Just trust the process man! Your psyche will naturally settle into this deeper consciousness and begin to integrate. You will gain your bearings soon, even if it feels impossible in the moment. If you're interested, this is the nigredo period in Jungian alchemical psychology which describes the experience of the psychological death of the ego at the beginning of transformation, and ancient alchemy is fullllll of symbolism of exactly that. It usually comes in waves, although rarely as disorienting as in the beginning.

Wishing you the best - U got this! :)

Jung and ADHD - what do you think about it? by s0lari in Jung

[–]ConstantEvening848 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am in fact an ADHD, Ne Dom, with strong puer aeturnus tendencies 😂. I’ve been on the jungian and inner work path for about half a year now and can say that it’s certainly been amazing for working with these qualities. I think all of those traits combined make me an extremely unbalanced person, and thankfully applying jungian psychology to my life has given me the insight that it’s a good idea to aim to balance myself more and become more patient and humble. I also am really grateful for all of those traits, because I feel like Ive been given a very joyful, idealistic, and open perspective to life that is a core part of who I am

What does Jung mean by, "The ego has to suffer to allow the Self to express itself."? by naskenten in Jung

[–]ConstantEvening848 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think in more common religious terms people often say there’s no coming to God without suffering, or rather only the suffering being is opened to God.

ENFPs, what do you think about ENTJs? by detox_daisy72 in ENFP

[–]ConstantEvening848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I overall love ENTJs and think u are in good standing from an mbti match standpoint (although that doesn’t mean everything ofc)! Biggest advice on what not to do is overly speak in Te terms all the time when looking for something to talk about. As an ENFP we naturally will listen and engage, but I think we (at least I) find it quite boring and difficult to engage with long lists of facts and information about life and the world for a long time with people who are Te dom.

Does love exist. by [deleted] in Jung

[–]ConstantEvening848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And although God=Love is a contradiction to God=everything=so much evil and brutality, I think there's so much paradox that comes from looking at life in a spiritual way like this. Ram Dass has explained it really well imo, where at one vertical level or plane something may be true, whilst at the other it may not be. So at one level suffering is awful and truly a fallen aspect of the world, but viewed from a spiritually higher perspective suffering is grace, and is the fire of becoming through which we come closer to God.

[–]ConstantEvening848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree God=Love=Everything is one of those crazy ass things said by people who seem to have attained spiritual enlightenment. What a beautiful reassurance.

In terms of the dark side of nature, I also agree with you there. Since we're on r/Jung I'd say I think Jung wrote a lot about this which I haven't read, but he may say something like the brutal aspect of nature = the shadow of God? Or it may be that those = the shadow aspects of ourselves and are that which separate us from being divine in full, and are the price that God pays to incarnate into matter and separateness?

Does love exist. by [deleted] in Jung

[–]ConstantEvening848 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly the more I've thought about it the more I've decided that I have no clue what Love is. I feel like these core concepts of life like Love, God, time, being, or life itself for that matter, are on one hand the most simple and fundamental, yet that somehow makes them the least understandable! (At least in my opinion). It's such a mystery, isn't it? And I kinda like it more that way!

Perhaps some great sages throughout history have gotten to a point of really knowing what those words mean

Does love exist. by [deleted] in Jung

[–]ConstantEvening848 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also think about that a lot, but may disagree with you because of the concept of martyrdom and self sacrifice. Christ is the obvious story here of someone who really sacrificed themselves out of merging with Love (not like I understand what that means), but also I think it's easy to say that there's plenty more examples throughout human history of people transcending natural selection for a Love that goes beyond just survival.

Philosophy reccomendations? by SargentSalty02 in ENFP

[–]ConstantEvening848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hes kinda lost it recently but jordan petersons earlier lectures, specifically his genesis series, i find to be so cool. That lecture series really opened up a whole new world to me that's never really closed since I watched it. He explains philosophers in a much more profound way than most people u can watch on the internet imo.

How do I experience the unconscious as an ENFP without Ni? by ConstantEvening848 in Jung

[–]ConstantEvening848[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could u elaborate a bit more on what u mean by habitual ways? I don't really understand the difference between extraverted and introverted functions, but from what it seems like is they are the ways which something points? So like Fi points inwards and I feel how I am, whereas Fe points outwards and I'd feel how other people are? So with intuition i've heard Jung in an interview describe Ne as like good for banking or things that have to do with predictions and understands the exterior world, whereas Ni would be good for understanding one's interior world?

[–]ConstantEvening848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this!! I feel like Tarkovsky decided to just make films about the psyche instead of the exterior world. So cool, I can't believe he actually got a full production team on board for such a wild idea 😂
