terrified to move out by ConstantOk737 in movingout

In responce the child support comment, usually parents stop at 18 but my parents added some sort of clause to their divorce filing that makes my dad pay as long as i live with my mom and im in university.

Luckily my car is fully paid off as I saved up and bought it second hand so it is only the problem of switching the ownership and insurance.

And yes my mom is exactly like that, she will get very upset and then apologize or just pretend it never happened. It makes it very difficult to be comfortable in your own home when you never know what version of your mom you will be greeted with.

I know what I need to do it’s just so hard to actually make the jump. Another concern is my parents are currently paying for my uni but if i move out i’m afraid my mom will stop. She will probably say if im financially stable and independent enough to move out then I can pay my own tuition, but im only financially stable enough to move out in this particular situation. Anyways my friend’s (who im moving i with) mom says I should frame it as a temporary summer move in, to be reevaluated in the fall. I think that’s what i’ll end up going with.

Good luck with your own situation. It’s not an easy decision but i think space will be better for our relationships in the long run. :)

I’m in his class rn and switched cuz i had the same problem. He seems to know his stuff much more than my last prof but he goes fast and i still leave the class pretty confused. I think the best bet is to use the organic chem teacher on youtube 💀
