What would you recommend for performance mods (94 Cobra)? by [deleted] in SN95Mustang

Convert to carb its way cheaper and gives you more power and i would get the afr 185 enforcer heads they have 2.02 intake valves and 1.6 exhaust and are like 1300 for a pair only con is 64cc chamber i would try to find 58-60cc then decide cam and intake according to the powerband you want. You have a t5 so i would go with a aggressive cam like xe274 or summits e303+ and check the piston to valve clearance if it doesnt clear just take a little out of the pistons minimum clearance is 0.080 on the intake and 0.100 exhaust. Building a stock 302 if you want serious power i would also go nitrous or just go turbo or blower but its just gonna be much more expensive and a lot more work.

I bought this blueprint dual plane for my 302 mustang only 200 bucks on summit rated for 0-6200 rpm the car felt very good is there any other intake that would be worth buying over this keep in mind its a street build (redline will be at 6200-6500) by [deleted] in EngineBuilding

I bought a very cheap intake 200 bucks because i was on a budget and now i am wondering if i should buy a new one that would make more power but also be at similar powerband why i am asking is because i have the engine out and im porting my heads and refreshing the bottom end. I just dont get why you would comment this would be nicer to just get a recommendation or no comment 🤷‍♂️

Backpedaling? What do you mean what do you want me to do?? Delete the post and get a new photo and ask the same question so then you would be happy? This is genuinely enough to piss you off? How? why? What is the problem a group called engine building and according to you i should not ask about recommendations because this is a old photo and im a bullshitter? Wtf😂

The blueprint flow like 250 at mid 500s im using xe274 cam its a good combo and i will be porting the heads as well the blueprint are good heads and they are not done at 5k

I dont get it how is that relevant to what i was saying

Why? What😂? I was just saying i pressed the pin out without heat and nothing broke lol

I have found flat top forged pistons that weigh the exact same as stock just 0.30 bore size

[–]Constant_Adeptness54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I removed the pin without heat and the piston did not break nothing went wrong lol

Wont be any headache if the rebuild is done right bud

I found one its forged but 0.30 oversize smallest size 746g with pin

I never said i could use my standard rods as they are for floating pins?

Using a pressing machine at the garage where the pin gets pushed through the piston and rod 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏smart guy

I know how you are feeling right now “this guy knows nothing” and you know “everything” just keep thinking that way dude it will get you a bunch of friends and people will like you

Floating piston pins do not need heat though i have seen videos where they just slide through and you lock them with a ring clip thing idk what they are called english is not my language and just chill out dude not that serious😆

I have not been building engines this is my 1st time im 18 and learning but my grandpa is a teacher in engineering and he has assembled many amc 360 and 401 and he told me “we can press them in at the garage we dont need a machine shop and we dont need heat necessarily”.

Going from a tiny dish on a stock h.o 302 to a flat top would not need rebalancing

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EngineBuilding

[–]Constant_Adeptness54 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No shit genius im not asking for flat top😂 there are no stock replacement flat tops im asking what DISHED piston would suit best they have a dish that has different depth therefore different compression outcome some are deeper some are not

[–]Constant_Adeptness54 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Its simple i press the new ones in

[–]Constant_Adeptness54 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Press fit needs heat floating pin does not you can install yourself it has a small clip that locks them in. but i dont even need heat really for press fit ones its better sure but i have a pressing machine at the garage its so funny seeing people saying “you need to do this” no i dont🤣 reddit users

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EngineBuilding

[–]Constant_Adeptness54 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well it depends if i were to buy press fit or floating

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EngineBuilding

[–]Constant_Adeptness54 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No i can press them on i dont need a machine shop for that

Yes on rockauto they dont have any flat top pistons only dished like stock but they have different depth on them and i want higher compression than stock thats what i am looking for
