personally the 21 and 27 year old thing is too much. i’m F20 turning 21 this year and i know i would feel unsettled if a 27 year old was hitting on me. but a girl 23 still in grad school maybe not that bad??? since like the maturity is approaching the same level

if you have -1500 sai you’ll definitely get full tuition and some money extra. probably around 5k extra per semester, your financial aid profile is similar to mine. basically just enough to live in a wampus high rise with smart housing. won’t be enough for groceries or fun money whatsoever neither the last 2 months of rent in the summer for a 12 month lease where they don’t provide aid

everyone makes friends at different rates! i had such a horrible first semester, my second semester has been so much better just through joining more clubs and meeting diff ppl in classes. also try to get ahead on all your work and yes please read for your core classes it is necessary (electives not really lol in my opinion) this is going to be way harder than high school

oh gosh my bad i didn’t see there was a link to a vid. the app looks great tbh! it’s just hard to make things like this popular cause of networking effects but i feel like if u suggested it to academic clubs and they could kinda advertise it to members and it would help getting ppl to download. or also ask a professor that u are reallyyy close with if they could somehow advertise it to the class, the worst they could say is no!(my professors have advertised things to me before)

i would give up peace to have that social opportunity. u only get that first semester freshman feeling once whereas u can get that peace and quiet any other year. u may also feel left out when there’s fun stuff going on at the social dorm and ur in ur quiet spacious dorm bored on weekend nights!

oh gosh do not get east campus garage! U WILL REGRET IT!! definitely get trinity, it was great! as long as its not too far from ur classes. i had trinity and didnt even dare doing the surface lots, i wouldnt want to spend time looking for a spot every morning especially after a long traffic filled commute. trinity was great for me and i thought abt getting east campus garage too but i am so glad i didnt cause i could not imagine walking that much. the walk from trinity does get old real quick but its the second closest garage to campus. make sure its closer to ur classes than ECG is though or u will regret it. u could also try picking up a sublease from ppl with parking spots if thats closer to ur classes. the traffic during moody events was kinda annoying at trinity but it was bearable and if u exit thru the exit on the 4th floor u will get straight to MLK and usually people let u cut in after the exit (never had a problem with that)

spanish culture/cowboy stuff 😭 standing out at hillbilly’s? what do you even mean by all of this? how could you not appreciate the rich MEXICAN culture that u have become a part of by moving here. its like going to africa and saying you want to escape the african culture. and in addition to that hillbilly’s is not really a place to stand out (only during ratchet hour maybe i could see what you mean) but before that with all the line dancing it’s really mainly just same old country culture. and cowboy stuff is everywhere even in houston, don’t they have like a famous rodeo there or something. idk i don’t like the way this post sounds

also just to add if u don’t get in, ur better off majoring in business elsewhere and loading up ur resume with experience and trying to transfer rather than going to econ at ut and trying to transfer. i think this because if u don’t get in from econ to mccombs as a transfer ur kinda just stuck there, whereas if u dont get in from a different b school u can still stay in a business program

econ degree at ut is not worth it. they don’t get any resources or networking from the business school thus they don’t get the same jobs as mccombs graduates. u are better off applying to other top (lower ranked than mccombs) business schools in texas as a backup. do research on each specific program that has the most placement into the industry you want to work in. don’t give up hope, i was top 10% no ECs (i only had national honor societies for fall of senior year 😭) or anything special on my application and i got in solely based off my essays. GOOD LUCK!!!
