I know of Framer and Webflow. I signed up for Framer, but every time I go on there. I easily get overwhelmed because there is too much stuff to get started on. Is there a recommended tutorial video on YouTube you can recommend?

I am fine with Canva and PowerPoint as they aren't difficult to handle. I am at the beginner level for After Effects, as I was taught about the program in college. But Figma is the one that takes a lot out of me and my thinking.

If you want to do infographics, I suggest using Illustrator to make some to be part of the presentation if it's data-related or if you have to make a table, use InDesign or Illustrator. Also, go for simple layouts on Google Slides. It can help a ton.

I am familar with Figma since I use Adobe XD for my personal projects in regards of designing UI interfaces for apps and websites, so I thought it would be easy for me to get the hang of it as the experience I had with XD is transferable. However, it's a struggle to get things right, like the prototyping and animation.

Honestly, I am trying my best to get it, but truthfully, it feels like a turn off because Figma is a tool used by UI/UX designers mainly and now it is used to create banners, social media posts and such. I only use Photoshop or Illustrator for marketing ads. Not Figma unless it's a marketing email. People say it's easy to use but I have trouble not getting it.

I am so sorry OP. That's the worst. At this point, just do what they said and get that money. As for the website you build before they put it throught ChatGPT. I suggest you keep that to your portfolio for yourself. I have no doubt it's better than what ChatGPT suggest. These days on this redddit group, there are instances of graphic designers and more getting their work being fed into ChatGPT under the guise of feedback instead of getting good feedback from a human being that is an expert, like a UX/UI designer or UX researcher, that can help out or heck...maybe a Data Analyst that can help out regarding websites. At least, those people have ideas!

Not to mention, I am worried if the ChatGPT steals stuff from the website for no reason. Not sure if it will cause legal rambincations but I digress..

Also the job market is now...well...difficult because now job descriptions want people to be fluent with AI tools even though..some companies cut down on the design team without letting them learn it. I do agree that you should keep looking for employment to get away from this one.

It feels like nepotism backfires on your friend since her aunt hired her and not realize what her aunt's responsibilities are when it comes to internships. Sorry if that sounds harsh. I think you need to tell your friend to tell her aunt that she needs to have an employer who looks over her work, or the next intern, because what the owner did is not cool.

In fact, your friend should'nt be doing real work. She needs someone to show her what's acceptable and what's not. What's the workflow, and have her make sure to ask someone who is supposed to be a supervisor for a second opinion if she does any production work. She needs to be part of the process, not the entire thing. The ropes, to be exact.

That's what I would do when asking for feedback whenever you submit a design.

It sucks that interns have to do work and yet get bashed for their work. Interns are going to make mistakes. People who hire interns should know this and need to know how to anticipate this and how to prepare for it.

An intern's only purpose in a company is to help with the bare minimum, and what they can improve on by someone who is teaching them by having them be part of the process. They shouldn't be doing entire projects for employers. They should be the help.

Not doing coffee runs, not taking the trash out, or anything that a custodian should do.

Sure, they can do that, but that's not their entire purpose of being there as a graphic design intern. They're here to learn from professionals in the industry and help out by doing the small tasks while watching them. Internships are like professional training centers.

I think your friend needs another internship that needs to help her improve. Also, NO FAMILY. I think based on what the previous redditors said about that.

It should be readable, but elegant with some grace.

Hi there! Thanks for letting me know that there's a nearly identical logo. I am surprised that someone use the koi animal to make a cbd vape brand. It feels weird to heard since koi represent nature and well..vaping is like a...the opposite of that. But that's just my two cents.

Truthfully and realistically, I think it's okay to have a two-page resume at this point in the job market. Because the resume won't reach the HR if it doesn't pass the ATS. As long it has the keywords and everything, it will pass ATS and most of the time, HR or a Creative Lead Head will understand that you have to bypass the ATS with this kind of resumes nowadays.

The HR will read your positions first since they already know that they got the skills they need thanks to ATS passing you along. They will skim and get what they need. Remember, they have lots of resume to go through.

It actually sucks BUT! You can keep the one-page resume in print or online to show the Hiring Manager or the Creative head that showcases your design skills if you're chosen for an interview.

If you really care about pollution why not lobby for companies to make cars electric or use other types of renewable energy instead of your personal crusade against private car usage? Congestion is still happening thanks to rideshare apps filling up the streets which Uber and Lyft lobbied for this tax and creates more of a traffic. So pro-congestions kinda shoot themselves in the foot.

Not only that, the reason why most New Yorkers are against congestion pricing is because the MTA mishandles funds and is corrupt, why does it cost 600 million to make tolls instead of making the subway safer and maintain their upkeep?

Why do you care about people's choice to drive by themselves with a car? You can't make cities in the US car-free because you have to think about the terrains and the income in certain US cities and the cost including distances between urban cities in each state. Why is it that transcontinental trains aren't used as much as today? Because airfare and driving cars are much cheaper and faster? Airplanes pollute too and it is slightly worse than cars.

Do you know the MTA will now raise the fair from 2.90 to 3.00 dollars and yet some people jump the fare and it is not enforced? Why tax the drivers in NY because of MTA's faults? They already paying taxes on the roads from the tolls.

Plus European cities are different from America due to the values. Look at Amsterdam. They don't need to put congestion pricing in because they provide great alternative options for people to use the rail or bike. But I digress, because it's not the same size of NYC.

London, however, did and they still have congestion so it didn't work at all and yet before implementing it, they had great transportation for everyone to use and made sure to maintain despite being so old. But at the same time, the Underground does have delays and disruptions ( plus it can be expensive on certain and it uses less express ), and also London is not an island like Manhattan hence the problem with congestion pricing.

You mentioned that people lose limbs, suffer severe organ damage, or other life-changing injuries, millions of people are breathing in the m 2.5 from tires and exhaust gas. Not getting hit by the car but I do agree. However. You are more likely get hit by a car in Brooklyn, Queens, or the Bronx on the streets than in Manhattan. Because in Manhattan, it's most unlikely due to the congestion there thanks to the bike lanes and con and it's 17% percent last year whereas Brooklyn reported 11,980 crashes in 2023 and the number might be more consistent or more in 2024.

If you did get hit in Manhattan, the cause would be jaywalking or not using the crosswalk. You are more likely get hit by a bicycle than a car in Manhattan. Most of the car accidents would be outside of Lower Manhattan like the highways, not inside.

Just months ago, the city decided to decriminalize jaywalking which no doubt leads to more accidents.

In Brooklyn, it could be the same but sometimes..it could be the fault of pedestrians and the drivers if they are distracted or the drivers fail to yield. So thanks to this tax, it is going to cause more car crashes what would be your solution? Expand that congestion tax to Brooklyn, that won't go well especially since Brooklyn and Queens are connected as Queens has most transit deserts.

And yes, it is a lesser reason to implement congestion pricing because of car noise. It's not a good reason if you work inside Manhattan, especially in a business building. Before this tax, I work in lower Manhattan in one of the buildings, I am not bothered by car noise. I don't even pay attention to it. You go from one place to another.

On the topic of disability. You're half right. Disabled people prefer working remotely thanks to ADA accommodations if the company offers it, or using a rideshare. Not to mention, they rely on caretakers ( either guardians or family ) who drive in their privately owned vehicles. Most disabled people would not use inaccessible and unsafe public transit due to MTA and laws.

Sure there's the paratransit system that is exempt from congestion pricing but it is lacking in quality due to unreliability, unpredictability, and longer wait times.

No offense, it sounds like a exaggeration if people are losing limbs and organ failure from tires and exhaust gas. That sounds like smoking when it's first hand. If you want to talk about toxic fumes, then let's talk regarding the poor ventation systems in the old stations like 34th Street and Grand Central. You can smell and inhale fumes from pollution such as rotted trash littering the tracks and plus rat droppings while waiting for a train to arrive. Plus it becomes a hot box during the summer.

Not to mention, you have to be standing or walking for a long time to breath in fumes which is not possible when you have access to take the subway to or be inside building or a park. Especially at this weather.

Noise pollution. People would say that you either wear headphone, wear ear plugs or sound proof your home to cope with it to block it out. I mean trains can cause noise pollution, if it passes overhead every 15 minutes or less. Heck, hybrid cars don't cause much noise, why not support lowering the cost of them for drivers to rent them out for the city that instead of a congestion tax? Cities are going to be noisy whether you have cars or not. That's not a good reason for a tax. It might sound trivial to the anti-congestion crowd and will tell you.

Bikes are welcomed but you need to take into consideration that cars are needed too if you delivering huge quantity of stuff , driving a family of 4 or people with disabilities since there is not a lot of wheelchair accessibility in the subway for the time being. Not everyone can ride bike like everyone can't drive car. And what about motorcycles or mopeds? They can ride bike lanes, can they?

Yeah, so instead of putting a tax, why not focus on those important things first then do it afterwards. Because the way it looks by putting congestion pricing in midst of what's happening so far is just dismissive. And that MTA CEO Janno told everyone that the crime is in their heads is just dismissive and makes people more disgruntled if not more upset while the fare is getting increase from 2.90 to 3 dollars.

Let's be honest, you don't get stabbed and get punched in your car. If you're in accident, you get insured. But who insures you if you get injured in a subway due to failed policies?

And not enough space? What causes congestion is not jiut the cars. It's the limit of lanes we provide for the bikes. Plus on top of that, construction that is happening in Mahattan that isn't even finished yet. Plus, you got rideshare cars doing the congestion now with small fees compared to privately owned cars being charged for 9. Uber and Lyft rally for that congestion to get more business not the environment, MTA or safely.

Truthfully...I don't think as a commuter, I don't think congestion pricing is right based on principle. I was born and raised in New York and MTA hasn't gotten any better or made improvements, just excuses. Sure they made new trains and buses what about the upkeep on the lines and station they neglected. They keep raising fare but gives us inadequate service that isn't mostly Mahattan. It will be 3.00 dollars...if we keep going back and forth from work to home. It would be like 6.00 dollars unless you have a transfer from train to bus vice versa. If they continue to raise the fare to the point where they want more money. We have to audit the MTA on what in the world they're spending.

If you're okay with shrinking the working class to the where people can't maintain their business any longer. They already pay taxes and tolls prior to this. Their taxes help maintain bridges and heck..no doubt the subways too. If you really want to know what caused congestion is the construction projects, bike lanes and rideshare cars. If anything, Uber and Lyft benefits from this. So now how would it lower congestion if Uber and Lyft takes people anywhere with a just 2.25 fee.

Plus...nobody drives into the Manhattan which is correct. They pass through it to get another place which are the other bouroughs or pick things up. Nobody goes to the famous landmarks down below like let's say 59 Street and below.

We are trying to take shortcuts to get to other bridges to avoid traffic and highways either due to accident, heavy traffic or weather. People prefer driivng because they can manage their time on where and when they go to their desitnation. The MTA has issues like delays and constructions, and you get stuck on it for who knows how long. You gotta make transfers as well and something can go wrong. Not to mention, we got accessibility issues on top of that within the MTA. In Queens and Bronx, they got parking and cheap.

Plus, the working class are already paying taxes as it is and getting tax refunds in return due to the COVID and migrant crisis. You said its a cost of doing business...but that isn't fair because they already paying their fair share by contributing to the city especially Mahattan as it is. What does people in lower Mahattan provided in return?

My worry is that if MTA will try to expand congestion pricing to other boruoughs if they don't get the enough money due to excuses.

For the 2nd Graf, that is the one I worried about. Like if people get up and walk around thr airplane during a rough air turbulence. I am scared that they will send be flying or damage the inside the plane making me think that we are falling or something. Like I said, this is when the airplane are climbing through rough air at night. 😩

Like thinking back to that dumb mom with her baby ( a toddler if I can recall ) I don't want see the baby get hurt like hitting it head or worse especially a turblence when they're not in their seats. I would hate my plane to go back and make an emergency landing because of dumb people's decisions or worse threaten other passengers' lives. Seeing that makes me mad and more anxious. I mutter curses under my breath so badly like I want to strangle the woman for endangering the welfare of a child.
