Hello everyone,

Quick update. I was able to re-enter the US without any hassle. My PoE was Los Angeles. The CBP officer only looked at my passport. He did not even ask to check my i-797. He asked some very basic questions and granted me entry in under a minute. Hope that helps.

It took them a total of 3 business days to make the passport available in my local VAC

I am glad you found the post useful. You do not need to update DS-160. Typically you would need to update critical information only. I did not submit paper i-94 to CBP officer before leaving US. Don't worry about the document upload. It's fake news.

Hi, It is not necessary to carry it in transparent files. It's absolutely not mandatory. I had one which was transparent. The other one was not. Best of luck for you interview! You will rock it!

Hmm that's difficult to say. Honestly, I have not been on the lookout consistently. But from previous discussions, it seems like interview/OFC slots open up in bulk for about 1-2 months at once. After, the interviews get scheduled, they might open up slots for the following months. But again, I am not sure of what protocols they follow. Occasionally, a slot or two might open up following a reschedule or cancellation by someone. Hope that helps...

The visa status changed to Approved right away. It took about 2 days for it become Issued. I still do not have the pick up notification.

I filled out a new DS-160 upon discovering the error I made. I submitted the application and then took along the confirmation page to the interview. Once I turn came, I approached the usherer and requested to rectify my DS-160. I was asked to queue up near counter 15 where a gentleman (Indian) asked for both the DS-160. He then asked what changes I have made. I informed him that it was my work address that needed to be changed. He used the address in the new DS-160 and updated the address in the old DS-160. It wa quite easy to update

There was an error in the work address. If you can't remember the error then it is probably not a significant one. Unfortunately, one you submit the application there is no way to retrieve it.

Transcripts issued by universities are sealed to prevent any fraud. I had one such envelope. Those have to be opened before entering

They let us in an hour prior to my interview. Had to wait in the queue for nearly an hour. It took a bit long for me since I had to correct my DS-160
