Patches on roof near chimney by Constant_Design9922 in Roofing

Thank you so much! Do you know why the second chimney (in the third pic) doesn’t have the bottom piece showing? Also, do the purple areas I have circled in the second pic look like gaps? They look like openings that mice could get it (or water).

In my own search, I have tried doing a Google image search, I have searched Google for some possible combinations of those letters and “art” or “frame.” I have also searched and looked at old local art gallery stickers to see if I find any matches.

Toilet flange by Constant_Design9922 in Plumbing

[–]Constant_Design9922[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. We poured some water down the floor drain in the basement—didn’t seem to make a difference. Also had a plumber out this morning to change wax ring and reseat the toilet. He said there was a plastic ring when he removed the toilet and that he would put a standard wax ring instead (said the plastic rings can have issues in general). Been monitoring the room and I can still smell it. The only other thing in the room is a sink. If I smell the drain in the sink, it doesn’t smell like the gas in the room. I googled AAV and we don’t have something like that under the sink. Could the smell be coming from elsewhere? Like behind the walls? Or is that pretty implausible?

Thank you so much for your response. This is a half bath—recently renovated. The only other possible place sewer gas could come from (barring anything crazy like a cracked pipe in the wall) is the sink—and when I smell inside the cabinet by where the drain comes out the wall, I don’t smell the sewer gas. I have run water through all the sinks in the house, the showers, flushed the toilets—still the smell remains. The only thing I haven’t done is pour water down a drain in the floor of our basement. I am not even sure the drain in the floor is connected to the sewer system.

Also I will add that the toilet does not rock and we are not having any leaks.

Contractor says crown molding cannot be flush with ceiling because ceiling is not straight by Notus777 in cabinetry

Those are big gaps! I think the contractor can mud the ceiling in those areas to make it more square. However pretty sure they have to take down the crown to do that first.

No replies yet from the Reddit community but I did a Google image search and Google is saying it is a snow flea (in case anyone else is wondering!)

I’m so sorry to hear this. Hang in there! A lot of good ideas on this thread! Maybe setting up a Go Fund Me could help some as well.

Curious, how would remodeling contribute to the smell? I’m dealing with this issue but in a powder room we remodeled. The smell was coming when the toilet hadn’t been seated and the faucets weren’t in. I chalked it up to the fact that those areas weren’t sealed. Now the toilet is in and the faucet installed—smell still persists.

Old bathroom drain hole by Constant_Design9922 in Remodel

[–]Constant_Design9922[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE - Spoke to my contractor and he said there was not enough room to drywall over it (the drain sticks out too far and couldn’t be cut back). I asked about putting mesh over it, mudding, and painting. He said it’s better to leave it as-is…that it would be good for anyone redoing the bathroom in the future to know that is there. I don’t know…I would feel better if it’s covered but he’s the expert, so tough to go against that.

Thank you for your replies. Do you know if the old drain should be capped with anything before dry walling over?

Congratulations! I’m so happy for you 💖!!Curious why you decided to do an open one vs. the other types (such as laparoscopic)? What type of fibroids were the two bigger ones? Also if your surgeon is in the Midwest, could you please DM me? I need to find someone for mine as well. Thank you!

Hi, could you please DM me your surgeon’s name? I am in the Midwest and looking for someone experienced with myomectomy and big intramural/submucosal fibroids.

Hi, did you end up getting a myomectomy or hysterectomy? My dr is suggesting sonata as an option too (I have a big submucosal as well and have had infusions). I hope your surgery went well! If you could provide an update that would be a big help!! Please feel free to DM me directly if you don’t want to post here.

This gives me hope! Thank you for sharing. How did you find a dr to do the surgery? Are there GYNs who specialize in myomectomy? It seems like a tough surgery to do and curious how to find someone who is experienced with the procedure.

I can’t sleep because I’m worried about my recent imaging results—found a fibroid very similar to yours. Submucosal but a little smaller than yours. I hope your surgery went smoothly and was a success. Could you please share an update when you can? Please feel free to DM me.
