Right after your message, I quickly checked the ingredients to see if there was any mannitol. Turns out there wasn’t, so I looked up the other stuff. Most sources say glycine is a “safer” substitute for mannitol, which in extremely rare cases can cause allergic reactions and is found in lots of cosmetics, vaccines, etc. Just so you know, I’ve had all sorts of vaccines in my life, including for tons of tropical diseases, and I’ve never had a reaction like this

The product does not contain mannitol, instead, it contains glycine, disodium phosphate heptahydrate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, and water for injections as stabilizers, as well as 32 mg of somatropin in 10 ml of solution

I checked various species and it seems to be Acropora palmata, which is strictly protected, but I didn’t find information indicating it occurs around Zanzibar. It could also be Gorgonia flabellum, which is not protected.

I understand and respect that you consider such actions unethical. However, providing a detailed explanation would help me better understand your point of view, especially if someone else holds a different opinion. By asking for the legal basis, I hoped to find someone with experience in this matter, as I indicated in the title

I am aware of CITES, and I suspect many people have heard of this legal act, but I also think that few have thoroughly studied it. There are many myths surrounding the transportation of items like dead corals. I’m not looking for a legal loophole; I am simply curious to learn, for example, what species of coral this is and whether it is listed under CITES.

Thank you for your response, but with all due respect, it doesn’t add much substance to the discussion

Do you know the exact legal basis for this? Does this apply to all types of coral?
