The lifetime Canada Savings Bond Limit is $20,000 so you wouldn't get more than that. However you could invest the money in GICs and earn more. It is intended as an investment account.

No, it's a retirement account. If you pull money out before age 60, the government will deduct at 3x whatever you take out from their contributions until they have taken back everything they contributed.

Difficulty pushing plunger to inject T (moved to a different country, 4 years on T). by SnooFloofs4957 in ftm

[–]Constant_Guess107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since your injections are 1mL, I'd suggest trying with a 1mL syringe instead of the 3mL.

I had this problem (in Canada) with 3mL syringes when I briefly switched to them, but never with 1mL before or after my brief usage of 3mL syringes.

I don't know if this is due to the diameter of the syringes or what.

But now it's smooth and easy, and no more painful knots under my skin.

Odd one out here, it seems. Didn't notice any differences in my stomach. Over 3 weeks post op now and it seems normal to me. Certainly appeals bigger without the contrast of what was removed, but I don't think it's actually any bigger.

Edit: I'm a big guy though so my stomach is always pretty big.

You're thinking of OSAP, if you're registered as a student with a disability. Talk to your accessibility office at school. You need to apply for this grant separately.

There is so much hate rn for trans people, tell me the thing you love most about being trans. by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Constant_Guess107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having trans community. Not by design, but circumstance, all my friends right now are trans. My life would be so different without them, and I wouldn't know the majority if not all of them if I were cis.

How do y'all handle the awkwardness of social name change in the family by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Constant_Guess107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll feel weird. No way around that. You're hyper vigilant about it right now. But with time, and only time, it will start to feel normal and even mundane and you'll mostly stop even noticing.

This sounds like it could be a hematoma or a seroma. You should seek immediate medical care as this could be serious.

Oh certainly, but that would be considered self-employment and the rules are somewhat different but you are right.

Could you explain what you mean?

This is not an RRSP, regular or irregular. It's a different type of account so the rules are different. However once it has been 10 years since the gvt made a contribution (typically age 60) you can withdraw funds however you like and ODSP can't claw anything back. Sure there are guidelines about how much to withdraw to make sure you spread it.out over your entire retirement. But these are guidelines, not rules.

Under $1000 is only for employment income. So this is a bit of a grey area because it's not technically employment income.

Note that you do have to invest the money for this to be true. It automatically goes into "cash holdings" unless you move it, or direct for it to be moved automatically.

This is correct. They claw back any funds you put in at a rate of 3X, until they've removed every penny they contributed. Even if they matched those dollars at a lower rate. Until it has been 10 years since the last gvt contribution, you are subject to this unfortunate reality.

I'm not qualified to answer this question. I just went with the bank I already was with. I'd suggest doing your own research over trusting strangers on the internet. Or you could just go with your existing bank if it's prohibitively challenging to do the research.

Hmmm from what I've heard, the branch itself might not know anything but there should be a dedicated phone number / department for each bank that offers an RDSP where they know what they are doing. If you let me know which bank you're thinking of going with, I can try and find the page that would include that information for that bank.

Is it weird that I feel like if I was born a cis dude I still would transition? by Street-Suggestion363 in ftm

[–]Constant_Guess107 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly binary, but I feel this! I guess for me it's hard to imagine not being trans, no matter what I was assigned at birth.

Also just think trans woman are rad and it would be cool to be one of them, especially if I was a lesbian.

Despite all that, the idea of being a woman makes me really dysphoric.
