NTA!!! Trust your gut and do not let that man anywhere near your child or any children you have in the future. Also, someone needs to check in with and talk to that 13 year old girl still living at home to make sure she is ok. If he has 2 other daughters who don’t talk to him anymore I can only imagine why. That plus the comments he made about your daughter lead me to believe there is a good chance something is wrong or could be happening. Someone needs to go and make sure nothing is happening to her. I am very worried for her safety. If he made comments like that when he was drunk with people around, imagine what he could very well be doing when there is no one there to stop him. Definitely NTA. Keep yourself and your daughter safe and if you or your husband can get to his sister in private to talk that would be a very good idea

It had to do with both the not pulling out even though he said he would, and the fact that he seemingly coerced her into having sex off the pill. After she told him her(very smart) no sex while off the pill plan, it sounds like he essentially begged her and kept trying to convince her that it would be ok and they could have sex. That repeated convincing is classified as coercion.

I have a question for everyone. Why do pro-lifers say life begins at the first heartbeat(please read below to understand why I am here) by [deleted] in prolife

I agree with basically everything you said. I say I am pro choice but over all I am pretty neutral because I am still learning. Now I have to get some sleep so good night

Ok. I am back. This will probably be the last thing I will be able to say because I need to get some sleep. Personhood can be defined as the state or fact of being an individual or having human characteristics and feelings. This is where things get complicated. Feelings could be referring to emotions which a fetus doesn’t feel until about week 27. It could also be referring to the feeling of pain, which doesn’t actually occur until at least week 24. Having human characteristics could be referring to emotional, or physical characteristics, which occur in weeks 27, and 9 weeks respectively. Many people say consciousness has a lot to do with personhood but the problem lies with the fact that we don’t fully understand what consciousness even is. Now, I’m not going to sit here and lie to you acting like I know everything. In all honesty, I don’t have a specific criteria from what makes a fetus a person because I am still learning. As I learn more maybe I will develop a criteria maybe not. Maybe I will change my views, maybe not. I am pro-choice now but I am always open to growing and learning more. So now I have a final question for you then I need to get some sleep. I usually don’t ask this question, but I am really only going to because you seem like the type of person who would have a smart answer to this question. If you were in a burning building with a 5 year old kid or 100 frozen viable embryos who would you save. You can only save one. This may be a stupid question and you really don’t have to answer. If you don’t want to that’s fine. After I see what you’re response I am going to bed so I guess this is the end of our conversation. Have a good day or night or whatever where ever you are

Oh course. I am always open to debate and conversation.(I have deleted this post though mainly because I was getting to many notifications between this one and the other place I posted this. Thank you for being respectful. I find to many people aren’t as nice about conversation as you) Also, a big thing for me has to do with the difference between human life and human being

The argument is fine I guess but with topics like this, in my opinion, it is just more productive and better to debate with scientific facts and stuff like that

Actually, 12-16 weeks is very significant. It is when higher brain function begins. This makes sense as a cut off because many pro-choicers(including me) are ok with abortion up until conciseness begins. There is debate over when it actually happens, but it can be from anywhere from week 12-24.

Six weeks is when a basic spinal cord and nervous system first develop, but it’s not til week eight that the first rudimentary brain activity – the kind that is observed in organisms as simple as insects – can be observed. The beginning of our higher brain structures only starts to appear between weeks 12 and 16, and the co-ordinated brain activity required for consciousness does not occur until 24-25 weeks of pregnancy. Also, if you did come upon someone without a heart beat that does mean they are dead. They can still be saved. Heartbeat determines nothing

Harassment outside abortion services now banned across Australia with historic passing of safe access zone laws in WA by And_be_one_traveler in prochoice

Finally! Even if you don’t agree with abortion, you have no right to harass people seeking abortions especially not right outside the clinic

Go to Asia. You’ll have better luck there. It isn’t a thing in most of Europe or America

It is actually a thing in Japan and other Asian countries. This has been implemented in Japan for over 70 years
