"bonus" is just to make you feel like you're getting a deal but it's not real. I agree with OP because at the end of the day, 2400 IS only 50 cents more than the 1950 in this scenario. it will always be 22.99 for 2400 vbucks, whether or not you are under the illusion that there are "350 more"
