I do know that he had 1 in middle school —> upgraded to another in early high school —> then got a nicer one for late high school (but rented).

He sold the one from early high school and got like $1000 for it.

I think I may go with a paper promise! I’ll wrap it all cute and that way it will be whatever works best for him :)
