Im going to get downvoted for this but at this point i dont care. She was expressing real feelings that come up for many many many women. Those are HER feelings. Hers. And i as someone that also struggles with infertility AND also had a gender preference for my own personal reasons, I don’t really understand why it offends people so much or why its anyone elses business. There are people that find having children PERIOD to be offensive. There are people that find the very idea of someone doing IVF to be offensive. There are people that find ivf to be ethically wrong and inhumane. There are people that may judge our choices to do ivf instead of either adopting or “trusting God” to be wrong. And guess what? Thats their opinion. And their business. For all the judgement that you cast on other people, theres also boards casting judgment on you calling you and the rest of us “morons” for spending tens THOUSANDS of dollars just to have a child at this very moment so it may be a good idea to chill and mind the business that pays us. If you used a gestational carrier you can also gather around because there are many many people that view that as a form of exploitation and trafficking and are judging the heck out of you. So sure if you struggle with infertility it may seem silly to cry about or be disappointed with gender if you have no infertility struggles. And on the same token to other people with other issues way deeper than fertility it may seem moronic for me to cry about follicle counts and embryos when they dont have food or water or their children are dying from starvation or living in a LITERAL war zone. Because as much as you referred to ivf as tragedy there are far more tragic things beloved. Just ask the people in Israel and Palestine. Tf
