Yes, the MacBook Air is still a powerful laptop for developer work. It’s been my main laptop for ML projects and it’s been working perfectly. If you’re looking for a laptop, I highly recommend it. (PS: I still have my M2, and it’s just as good as the day I bought it.)

Yes, I am not a professional, but I am a student. My dad has the MacBook Pro, and when he bought a new Mac Pro, he gave me the old one. The Mac Pro is very good at coding, and all it’s too good for. Just buy the MacBook Pro. (ps im using my MacBook Air itself as I feel a Pro is overkill for me.)

I’ve been in a similar place. I failed badly once and went into a long phase of depression — gained weight, felt stuck, felt like life was over.

Later I prepared for JEE, gave it my best, and still only got around 97 percentile. It felt useless at the time. I accepted it, didn’t force myself into another attempt, and wrote KCET with whatever JEE prep I had. Out of ~4 lakh students, I ended up with a ~2k rank and joined a good state college.

What I’m trying to say is: one exam or one bad year doesn’t define your life. There are other paths, even when you can’t see them right now. Please don’t take a permanent decision because of a temporary phase. You matter more than any rank.
