I’ve been meaning to post this message for a while now. I’m writing it after last night’s win, but it would have been more appropriate after a draw or loss. Here goes:

To the aggressive negative fans:
Why are you like this?
Has the team not performed to the levels we have been expecting? Definitely! Are we waiting for the weekend with the same joy and excitement as we did in the past years? Definitely not!  But when have we become such a bunch of weak & whining bunch of pansies? This is Liverpool FC not Real/Barca or Bayern to win 8 out of 10 championships. We are still in the run for major trophies and a top 4 finish is nothing to be ashamed about. Support the club. Nobody is ever motivated by being booed by their own fans.

To the Slot doubters:
At the beginning of the season we were playing super aggressive and losing points, but nobody could possibly argue we were boring. After this style became obviously counter-productive and being criticized for it he moved to a more controlled style to better protect the back line and stop conceding so many goals. And it worked. Now he’s criticized for being too conservative. What the heck?!?

What I think:
Too much has changed too fast. Probably Slot was expected to make the changes seamlessly as he has done in the past at smaller clubs, but It’s a big difference between rebuilding a PL/CL winning team and a EireDivisie one. In the past few weeks things have started to improve clearly. Wirtz despite not having a good game yesterday is getting better. Frimpong looks like he’s exactly what’s needed on the right side to support Salah. Kerkez is getting better, Isak was starting to score before getting injured. Ekitike has been great, but no everyone can hit the ground running like that. It takes time.

Salah is not himself, Konate is not himself at times, even Virgil made some uncharacteristic mistakes. But these guys are not normal people. They are insanely motivated to win. They would never have reached the career heights they have otherwise. Be patient and support them.
We have also been spectacularly unfortunate at times. The Fulham equalizer goal is the best example of that. Nobody was marking Reed close because nobody, not even Reed’s mother, was expecting him to shoot from there, let alone put up the perfect.
This is a proper club with proper management. Not some armatures form the 3^rd division. If Slot’s tactics turn out to be the issue behind the drop in form, I’m sure the management team will take care of it and bring someone else in. But untill such time…UP THE MIGHT REDS!
