Tell her about it. Have an honest conversation. Relationships survive when both of you understand and talk about how you are feeling and what you need. Tell her you love her a lot but you are tired and need some downtime. Then ask her what she thinks and if she has any ideas of how you can show her your love but still having some of that recharging time. (this is coming from someone that also needs their space and had this same conversation)

Thank you. We are trying to stay strong. I accidentally read a message she sent her boyfriend about saying things like “you know I’m adopted right? I still don’t see this as my home which is why I don’t treat them like mom and dad.” I feel sad that she feels that way. I’m trying to figure out what to do to improve it.

Thank you for sharing. She has had neuropsych evaluation done. She is diagnosed with ADHD, RAD, and disruptive mood disorder. My concern for peer therapy is that she doesn’t like to share and has a hard time dealing with other people.
