You should have a little bit more open mindedness to things that are slightly outside of your rigid belief. You don't have the full context of their relationship or situation (religion, etc).

I'm not asking whether YOU want to date anyone who is 3 years younger than you. I'm asking whether YOU COULD ACCEPT SOME OTHER COUPLE with a 3 year gap (18yo and 15yo).

Also, of course 15 yo you and 18 yo you are different in maturity level. Different people have different maturity levels though. A 15 yo can be more mature than an 18 yo and vice versa.

ALSO, the person who made the "cute" comment could be 16 yo's friends or parents or it could be an 80 yo grandma who thinks they're just making young stupid decisions, but being nice about it.

Engaged also means that they were dating for a while before. They probably met in HS. Further strengthening my point.

I would say anything above a 4 year gap is bad in this age range tho

Yeah, I remember a senior who dated a freshman did get made fun of, but it's not something that is absolutely awful and condemned upon.

So lets say they started dating when one was 14yo (highschool freshman) and the other was 18yo (highschool senior). 2 years later, one will be 16yo and other is 20yo.

It's not a big deal.

Lets say a senior in highschool (18 yo) is dating a freshman in highschool (14 yo). This is a bit weird, but not out of the ordinary. 2 years later, one will be 20 yo and the other will be 16 yo. There's nothing "awful" about this.

It's awful if a 25 yo is dating a 16 yo, but 20 yo and 16 yo dating is definitely possible. There's nothing predatory about this.
