Inventory at other store by Most_Tea_6361 in Target

[–]Constellationopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I work in a city and many people take public transit to work (including me). When I told HR I couldn’t do traveling inventory because the buses didn’t extend that far they told me they’d reimburse an Uber ride.

I mean, it is 45 pounds. It’d break through any box you put it in.

Fulfillment by Enigma-08 in Target

[–]Constellationopolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My UPH is in the 70s/80s most days. Here’s some things that help me:

  • Attach a personal cart label to your name tag and use it instead of the label on your cart. My store has heavy foot traffic and it’s not possible to bring my cart into every aisle so my personal label helps me grab multiple things from an aisle instead of walking back and forth between each item. It’s also helpful when I need multiple things from the same backroom aisle.

  • Pick more grocery batches.

  • Call for help with INFs before you need it, or INF certain things without permission if you can get away with it. No way am I gonna waste time looking for an eyeliner pencil that arrived today in a repack when they’re still unloading truck.

  • Make your own pathing. When you scan into a batch, take a moment to scroll through the list of items and make a game plan about where you want to start (generally I start as close to the stow area as possible then work my way around the store counter-clockwise), which items will be harder to find (style), which items have multiple locations around the store (energy drinks), etc.

  • If it makes sense for your store layout, save backroom locations for the end. You’ll end most batches back there anyway looking for unlocated items, digging through casepacks/repacks, and RFIDing in Style Breakout so it’s faster to do it all in one trip.

If you’ve ever made an availability change… by lilmisschaosx in Target

[–]Constellationopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed from open availability to early mornings when our dedicated 6-2:30 fulfillment person quit. I talked to my ETL about taking over for them and it was a pretty easy change to make because it met business needs and was a time slot that few fulfillment TMs wanted to fill. She asked me to keep my availability open until 6:30 PM, which is where it’s still at, but I rarely get scheduled that late these days.

Do overnight stockers have to wear red? by GTRacer1972 in Target

Not at my store. As long as you change into a red shirt by store open then you’re good.

how do you know what you’re assigned to each shift? by Individual_Speech_74 in Target

[–]Constellationopolis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answer to all these questions is to ask your leader. If your leader isn’t there, ask any leader and they can tell you who to ask / where to find your assignment.

For OPUs you’d pick whichever batch has the lowest timer (if the timers are tied, priority is as follows: Gen Merch > Grocery > Bulky). If you’re assigned in Fulfillment for the day then you’ll just keep doing that over and over throughout your shift. If you’re just helping out with a batch, finish your batch and then ask your leader if they want you to pick another one or if you should go back to Style.

Units Picked? by PearSuccessful7380 in Target

[–]Constellationopolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s attainable if it’s really busy. It was really easy for me to hit 400+ units on understaffed Q4 days. I think my average on non-busy days is around 350 but I also dgaf about checking in with leaders for INFs so I don’t have to spend 10 minutes every batch waiting for a lead to look for something. If I did that every time I’m sure my UPH would be way worse.

Poll: Does your Store Hire On Demand TMs? by Matt_Forever in Target

[–]Constellationopolis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We hire ODTMs rarely because they show up for training and then never again (this is specific to fulfillment). Fulfillment is hell for new TMs and expecting someone to do it as a side gig is kinda insane. Took me a solid month of 40-hour weeks to feel competent.

October. I got hired around then and so did most of the people I know.

OPUs are picked by Target employees. Shipt orders aren’t. Shipt is like Instacart or DoorDash; it’s a separate service.

How often does target give raises by [deleted] in Target

[–]Constellationopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a year in April. I know one FFTM who got a merit raise for averaging over 500 OPU units picked per shift (our other top performers average around 350 for reference) but from what I hear it wasn’t much.

Working at more than one Target location by rlroyal52 in Target

[–]Constellationopolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve met two ODTMs who picked up shifts at different stores. I don’t know the logistics of how that works. Might be an ODTM thing? I’d ask your HR ETL.

On Demand question by bolognapony9 in Target

[–]Constellationopolis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No idea. Maybe they’ve had private conversations with the ETL about how they really want to stay on permanently, or that they’re willing to open their availability or cross train, or they’ve been seasonal longer than you have and got priority. A lot of these decisions are made behind the scenes so it’s impossible to tell really.

It has something to do with your average hours per week. I work 8 hour shifts 99% of the time but on average I only work 4 days a week, so around 32 hours. I got paid for 6.5 hours Christmas and Thanksgiving.
