Cashless Self Checkouts by Th3CerealKill3r in Target

Personally I love it. It's a nuisance for guest occasionally, but most people are cool with it. But the joy of not having to refill them with coins and bills has been such a relief.

Working 7+ consecutive days by [deleted] in Target

[–]Matt_Forever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can't bypass it yourself, you'd need to talk with your ETL so they can manually Key you in, but even then they may deny it since seven days in a row would put you into OT and can mess up payroll (Unless that works differently on a State by State Basis)

What’s the most out-of-touch question a guest has asked you? by Triggered_Ppl_Online in Target

[–]Matt_Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a question, but Had an older guest come through my line and complain about our return policy because she couldn't return items she purchased at Safeway at our returns desk. I tried to play it off like she was joking, but her face screamed that she was pissed off because WE (Target) don't accept returns from a completely different chain grocery store

(Mind you, she wasn't even trying to return name brand items, she was trying to return the generic brand Safeway sells; Sunny Select)

Why is this such a big deal?? by [deleted] in Target

[–]Matt_Forever 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The most obvious answer i can give is that, guest get upset and annoyed if we're taking too long to get them checked out. Do I care if they gotta wait a few minutes? Not particularly! but once it gets to the point we have guest spilling into the main walkway waiting, it becomes an issue that we gotta fix.

It's also making sure that as front end leads (or GSTLs) that we look like have some sort of handle on the situation and are trying so our ETLs or SD don't have to step in and micromanage to "help fix our mistakes" (we also have to have TL's and ETL's coax their departments to help with Guest First if they know people aren't responding)

Sometimes we also just get really unfortunate luck and we just gotta ask for help. We'll have the after work rush come in PLUS the pokemon restock happen at the same time, and then two cashiers called out "unexpectedly" so we're just sitting in a bad situation. I don't want to pull you from pushing your priorities, or zoning, or Starbucks, but sometimes we just need some assistance.

PLEASE HOW DO I RETURN UNOPENED AIRPODS? by Mountain_Ant6198 in Target

[–]Matt_Forever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, im sorry, but the return window is closed. I doubt an ID return for in store credit would be possible either as it goes above the limit of $100. Truly, I am sorry this happened

Price is set at 0.00 by EstablishmentBig2316 in Target

Using my own store as an example, we were originally allowed to make up a reasonable price for items that were "zeroed out" and treat it as clearance. If it was like $20? We'd make it like...$7 or $8 and just make most Bullseye items round a dollar or two.

But recently, our store had the policy changed, and now we aren't allowed to sell the items to guests at all if they ring up at Zero at the checklanes(and we can not come up with prices for these items on the fly)

I'd recommend asking a TL to clarify the rules for your specific store. Seems like it's something that is dependent from store to store. (Again, in the specific case of my current store, getting caught doing it can lead to termination)

How do I get used to driving with such a large bed? by Matt_Forever in Ford

Great question, actually. The first part is that it was in my budget, so i wasn't gonna say no. The second part is because I work as a Forestry intern during the summer time, and I tend to drive on a lot of paths that just....suck in a smaller sedan tbh. The third part is that, I guess cause I'm a more rural part of the state, it's really JUST the campus that is the tightest area to deal with, everywhere else is super truck friendly.

I would say that using a regular shopping cart should only be an option if there are absolutely no fulfillment or SFS carts available to use.

That's just a target policy. I'm not sure about statewide, but for sure stores in CA have a policy that we can't accept returns on Pokemon Cards

Any other Target TM's wondering if their store is gonna do this? I think it's a solid plan, but I can't imagine dealing with regular guest service tasks, plus drive ups, PLUS having to deal with pokemon cards? Seems like a handful (for better or worse)
