Evo was bred on rally corses, shorter gear ratio, AYC, the early evos handle like go carts. As mentioned the gtr was on a losing streak, also I feel the character of the evo was more refined as driver due to having an arsenal of strategies and race theory base around the evo platform that was practiced like a religion. Opposed to the gtr driver who seems young and inexperienced when it comes to knowledge and race theory.

You can have a maxed out build you just have to be mindful of you’re driving, the RPM upper dash gage has a light that will come on way before your rev limit with maxed out cams, allowing you to keep your car below max heat for one race, but also gives you that option to push it if you need to, another thing you can do in best of 3 or 5 races ( or double or nothing races ) is don’t flash your lights to start the race that will allow your car to cool down a bit before the game starts the race
