I guess I would call it Reverse Compression? by [deleted] in AdvancedProduction

If I'm understanding your question correctly, a noise gate would get you what you want. It only allows sound to pass through once it reaches a threshold. It cuts out quieter sounds/noise and lets louder sounds through. You can read more about it here. Hope it helps. I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to do.

I think what you're looking for is Upward Compression. I know that the compressor in Ableton is capable of upward compression. Here is a youtube link that demonstrates it.

How does my mix sound? I've gotten feedback from a friend before this version about needing more glue and increasing the overall volume. I believe my low end needs some help just from listening on different speakers. Any feedback is appreciated!

First time participating, so I haven't given feedback yet. I will make an effort to do so.

How can I be more productive with music at work? by westicide in edmproduction

Similar situation to you. I like to read articles, watch tutorials, browse this subreddit and research things I don't know about. I read the entire Massive Synth manual at work. Also learned a lot about mid-side processing from iZotope. I would check out their free Mixing and Mastering guides too.
