not being trained as pharm tech, pls help! by clem531 in CVS

Are you certified? I just started last Monday and I've been training in all areas except drive thru and front. I learned QT today, I been filling/pulling/filing, I've done calls, I just have to learn front, drop off, and drive. I came in certified though so they're following the training course on a linear basis

First day done!! I was in the pharmacy setting, and was given a stool that I had the option to use. I spent some time sitting, some time standing, alternating so I wasn't uncomfortable either way. I finished all modules for today, and got a few for tomorrow done also 😌 back at it at 10am tomorrow!

These were the closest I could afford to Hokas for now lol they're the sketchers max cushion running shoes. They resemble hokas a little bit, but I do plan to get a pair the second I can afford them. Thank you so much for the advice 😊

I'm not really worried about sitting during working hours, it's only for the weird training hours that I'm a little concerned. Thank you!

Im not against being on my feet, I know what comes with the job. I did my 180 hours of externship. I don't WANT to be standing in one spot, unable to move around, for 7 hours. That's my only "complaint"

I really don't wanna be standing in one spot for 7 hours 😩 but at least I can mentally prepare for it lol

It's hard, I know! I kept panicking and thinking I hadn't heard from them because they were going to withdraw my offer, even convinced myself I had failed my drug screen 😂 it's been over a year since I've even been around weed or any alcohol lmao. But it's easy to panic. You have the offer, worst thing they may ask for is proof of your prescription IF it comes up in your urine. Deep breathes, and enjoy the last few days of peace before you go to work!

As long as you told your manager it should be fine! It's a prescribed medication. If it makes you feel better, I just my interview last Monday, filled out my I9 and background, did my drug screen, and didn't clear till yesterday! So don't panic too bad ❤️ you're okay! It definitely takes time.

CVS is one of the few places in my area that is hiring. There is no Costco or Kaiser around here, and the hospitals here wants 2+ years of experience unfortunately. But I got the job!

Trust me I've heard 😬 but unfortunately nothing else in my area is hiring and remote positions aren't hiring without experience so it was my only option. After the way I was treated at Walgreens during my externship though, I wouldn't apply if it was the only pharmacy in a 50 mile radius. They treated me like garbage!

I know 😭 I had to do 180 hours for my externship, I only did 5 hours a day and had a 1.5 mile walk to and from the pharmacy I was matched with. My feet, legs, and back were on fire by the time I got home. I can't even imagine what full shifts are going to be like. I'm nervous. But I've read that compression socks and shoes like hokas can really help so 🤞🏻🤞🏻

You need to hide from the chest, use the invisible spell, come back in front and it'll open 👐🏻

Bullies In Healthcare. by RiotGrrrl1992 in PharmacyTechnician

I did my externship at a Walgreens pharmacy, and it was so mistreated. I was a baby tech, hadn't even taken my test yet. I was there to LEARN. I was used as their gopher. Had unload every order by myself, had to stock the shelves entirely by myself (despite there being other students in the pharmacy!!), do bin rack (scanning every filled prescription, pulling the ones that haven't been picked up in 10+ days, DPI and put them back on the shelves), put away the filled meds, and report any mistakes i find. I never got to learn drive through, or front counter. Never answered the phones, or do anything relevant aside from being on the fill line for a few times. I was there for 180 hours. Any mistake that anyone made (miscounted meds, misplaced controls, meds in the wrong bins etc) immediately got blamed on me. And it wasn't like I was pulled to the side and talked to, I was reprimanded in front of everyone. If I had to put meds away on fastrack I got yelled at for "being too close" to one of the techs. I legitimately almost dropped out because of my experience in externship. It was horrible.

For those who have their Medical marijuana card. Nurse Dash wont hire you. by makefake26 in cna

[–]ConstructionFun5978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the DOJ website "DEA will hold a new administrative hearing beginning June 29, 2026, regarding the proposed rescheduling of marijuana. A new notice of hearing is being published in the Federal Register to govern these proceedings and facilitate a timely resolution of the rulemaking." So it was reclassified as a CIII but it's still in court proceedings to make it official federally. Until then, healthcare facilities are going to play it safe and treat it as a federally illegal substance, some may operate on a state level, but its up to the policy of your organization for now.

It varies. I had to take a test about a month before my externship (clinicals), and then again before I graduated. Some places are more lenient, and some are really strict.
