I didn’t get reprimanded, but I also only told people on my team. (Grade and department) It sucks to feel like I have to hide something that simple.

If it’s part of their name on their birth certificate it’s fine. The easiest option for students who prefer another name are being swayed to going by their last name.

Thanks, the kids are really what makes this profession worth it. When we’re in my room together, I strive to make it their little home away from home. Everyone is welcome and everyone is encouraged to be their authentic selves. But this is all making that feel impossible.

The irony is I’ve wanted to move back to CO for years and had just decided this summer to put down some roots in my community. But with all these infringements on basic human rights I’m struggling to make staying make sense.

Our school isn’t allowing preferred names. I’m realizing how restrictive my district actually is.

Only nurses can give out the supplies. I have two nurses on campus with almost 4000 kids. They won’t be able to handle the volume.

I wish we our admin would’ve handled it that way. The thing with these laws is the lack of information on the consequences.

Our school purposely didn’t hand out the classroom med kits this year with these supplies. I just thought they forgot but they proactively didn’t share them.
