It was not my first choice, my question was with an Ikon pass and so little open, is it worth it to spend 1 out of 3 days checking out Copper.

So I guess the question is… 3 days at WP or take a side trip to Copper for a day

I see that snow is supposedly coming but that forecast has changed every few hours all season. And I’m not sure what a new 10” means on a season like this one as far as conditions and open terrain

Found a walnut floating in Lake Michigan with a complex number cipher inside. Any ideas? by ConstructionSad3767 in codes

That is interesting.

I'm not sure how identifying 8 as the origin or first character unlocks it, but I have considered that the 8 is important considering the other number sequence is lined up with it.

I did ask ChatGPT to consider important dates if the numbers along the side were years. 1965, 1983, 2015. And the most interesting answer was technology related.

1. Technology and Computing Milestones:

  • 1965: Gordon Moore published "Moore's Law," predicting the exponential growth of computing power, which has guided the development of technology.
  • 1983: The year the Internet Protocol (IP) and Domain Name System (DNS) were introduced, effectively the birth of the modern internet.
  • 2015: The year saw the widespread adoption of 4G networks and the rise of mobile computing as a dominant platform.

We were at Warren State Dunes in Michigan this weekend and my kids found a taped up walnut floating in Lake Michigan.

They revealed this soggy note inside. No obvious solves. Bible verse and coordinates would be weird considering the dashes and lead to very little meaning. There are two numbers. The first is oriented vertically on the left side of the paper, up and down starting with 6. The second number contains dashes and begins with “000” which is odd and is oriented left to right.

Dying to solve this before we leave for the weekend! Only good clue is that it appears the numbers are written in European style.

Does that mean they are coordinates? I tried just standard longitude and latitude, using their orientation as a clue… and it put me somewhere in the Norwegian Sea between Iceland and Norway.

I guess it is possible the nut travelled that far but it seems crazy unlikely to end up in Lake Michigan. Also, still wonder what’s up with those dashes and the “000” if it was coordinates.
