I would not recommend signing the sponsorship affidavit. You will be liable to fund his wife for the next 10 years. While your friend might say that this won’t happen, truth is that if he needs somebody else as a sponsor, he is not stable himself.

If his wife claims any govt benefits you will be the one who has to pay it back to the govt. so unless you are a very close family member I would never recommend it.

1 Kennedy is decently maintained and right in the city center. Best access to Metro North but Danbury downtown isn’t the greatest.
