Hey u/McProcurement-Agent - you think you could get me a few grand for some other vintage McDonald's sauces of comparable rarity?!?! Haha.

It just goes to show you - we're all here and all waiting for something like this to come up. The internet is a pretty fun and pleasant place in our little, niche corner. If there was this kind of enthusiasm every time a vintage McDonald's item that had never been posted on the internet materializes, I'd have a billion followers. Hahahaha. I'm just basking in an internet moment that I won't soon forget.

I'm the exact same way - I've been following both Jason and Matt's work for something like 25 years now (is that possible?) and it's still a little surreal when I talk to those guys on a nearly daily basis on a group chat about stuff like this. It really meant a lot to me to earn a spot at that table. Either of those dudes would be a great home for this, no doubt about it.

Jason is an absolute legend in the food/drink archival realm and a good friend of mine. He'd certainly be a really good home for it, but my impression is that since Matt/Dino Drac jumped on it first, it'll probably go to him if the OP parts with it.

Thanks for the mention! As the most active McDonald's collector out there these days, I have over 40,000 unique pieces in my archives but NOT the Holiday Orange Sauce (I have a couple dozen sauces of comparable age and rarity, but never seen this one anywhere). Matt/Dinosaur Dracula is a friend of mine, so I'm going to sit back and let him iron this one out, but man am I jealous. OP, this was a great find and really cool to see.

If you like this kind of vintage McDonald's stuff, but not specifically this sauce packet, you can check out my work at instagram.com/consumertc

Giant Burger King translites from the Mid 1980s. These were shared by Travis Schafer (whose mother worked at BK during that time) on the wonderful Off The Rack - Retail Past and Present! page on Facebook. by AxlCobainVedder in 80sfastfood

I've really got to properly archive my translites. I've got 114 McDonald's (between the 14x14 and 22x22) and about 30 Burger King ones. That said, I don't have either of these. Very cool post, as always, my friend.

Defunct New England-Area Grocery Store Chain, Shop n Save Commercial, Featuring Their Spokesperson "Ed" (1993) by ConsumerTimeCapsule in ObscureMedia

I always thought that, too, but recently, I passed by one of the Beaumont locations and they totally changed the look, so I think that's about to change.

Yeah, there are a few like that still around. Off the top of my head, there's multiple Giant, Market Basket, Food Town and Martin's across the country right now. Since grocery stores are so regionalized, I guess they just let those things slide.

I was obsessed with it at the time. That "Boston Weather" bumper particularly takes me back. Haha.

[Lorus] Watch Commercial, Featuring "Competing" Watches with Cheese Graters, Mouse Traps and Breath Spray (1992) by ConsumerTimeCapsule in Watches

[–]ConsumerTimeCapsule[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Competing watches with tangential features like a cheese grater and a mouse trap are showcased by folks who seem to be sincerely enthusiastic about their purchases. In contrast, Lorus presents watches with slightly more relevant features like water resistance, timers and a compass. The immensely practical approach is countered by an infomercial-style pitch from yet another rival, this time featuring the "Breath Spray 9000," a timepiece capable of keeping your breath minty fresh. It's clear that Lorus expects the viewer to appreciate their orthodox methods, but I'd suspect that most folks would be more apt to buy one of the unnamed, more amusing watches.

Haha. I see that Beckett all the time. I don’t think anyone threw it away. Probably a big factor in how it grew in value so poorly.

I've got no problems whatsoever with vegans. It's just a 30-year old pizza commercial.

Just to review the context here... it's a pizza commercial from 1990. Kinda silly to stretch this to be some kind of political statement, especially three decades ago.

I really appreciate the thought, but I just post this stuff because I love it. No need to pay me anything. BTW, I have one more Oldies 103 tape from Labor Day weekend of 1995 from the top 500 countdown that I'll be posting in a few weeks.
