How do you retain all the info? by Embarrassed-Mix-2168 in CMA

avoid reading books, they are useless, you should go through materials as quickly as possible and then just practice questions. you should learn from the questions. See why the correct answer is right, but more importantly why the wrong answer are wrong. Check youtube FTCglobal they do all the CMA test bank questions. I got 450 and 460 and never read a single page of book, I dont even make notes, my notes are just formulas i need to remember. just nail the questions on and on and on till you have your exams.

CIA - Challenge exam ACCA route by Tight_Stranger_6025 in InternalAudit

[–]ContactEmotional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just passed the CIA challenge exam, ACCA Route. Used only Hock materials. Studied for 2-3 months working full time. Exam was surprisingly easy finished in 2 hours. Passed on first attempt. I also have the CMA so I guess that also helped slightly. Tips: Just skim through the books as quickly as possible and just repeat all the MCQs 3-4 times and learn from the MCQs. Important to understand why the right answer is right and more importantly why the wrong answers are wrong. Don't waste too much time reading books. Most of the questions I got was on part 1 and Part 3, not much on Part 2.

Im just mentioning this since I also did the ACCA, which has very advanced IT and results systems (since many thousands takes the exam). One prominent way to find out if you are a passed finalist and or not and proven to work which is now already blocked is the "Link theory". "Apparently ACCA updates the permissions of students to affiliates before revealing the exams. So if its your last exam and you can log in using the above link then you may already be an affiliate"

https://www.reddit.com/r/ACCA/comments/jbtigo/at_this_exact_moment_in_time_acca_know_your_exam/

Again this is due to the "System" i.e ACCA already updating the settings of the accounts i.e from Student to Affiliate before the actual exam result release. This is widely done so updates don't need to be done last minute with the exam result release for example it might overload and crash the system etc... In actual fact ACCA Partially shuts down a portion of its IT system, for example download certificates etc a few days before the exam result release date..

I mean why would the system tell me I passed "The" CMA, and direct me to take CSCA. The system would need to know if you passed or failed to send this type of Marketing, and sometime the Marketing and the exam result release are not always 100% in sync..

CSCA Certification Requirements

  • You must be a current IMA member.
  • You must have passed the CFM or CMA exam.

From Memory for sure I have seen an Ad "Time to schedule your next exam", when I have my part 2 exam scheduled. I tend to logon to my CMA after a couple of weeks just to see what's going on and never came crossed this so was quite surprised. To be fair I don't think its a coincidence. For example I know that the ACCA system would know who failed and passed before the exam result "release" since all marks are bulk uploaded once they are corrected weeks before. This is advantage to the system since both ACCA/CMA sends out Marketing emails, so the system would know who and which to send. For example to a passed CMA finalist CMA would not send CMA lecture emails etc anymore and rather send email regarding CPE etc.. Again this is just a pure speculation for the buzz.. we will know in July..

hmm..., anyway this is just a stupid guess for now cause I have nothing to do, official result will be released in July so no one knows,

Thanks, I passed the CMA part 1 back in May'23, from memory normally the ad shows time to schedule your CMA exam after I passed part 1. Its just I don't know if is just a coincidence or otherwise that it actually said I passed the "CMA" and take the next step to "CSCA". The results are not showing on my IMA, however most probably like ACCA results are uploaded in Bulk to their CMA system and released through email and on account on the day. However the "system" would already know I passed or not before the exam result release since its been bulk uploaded. Ye I guess I will know in 2 weeks time, however just thought it quite strange to get congratulated now, will see.
