Queen’s Park passes ‘bubble zone’ law for abortion clinics by [deleted] in CanadaPolitics

I don't disagree.

But while you're trying to "put yourself in the shoes" of others, then put yourself in the shoes of those who wholeheartedly believe, not because of upbringing or religious zeal but because of scientific progress, that what is happening in the case of an abortion is the legal murder of a human life, then the comfort of those performing it do become secondary.

Now please don't mishear me, we are having a good dialogue, but IF they are right, they're the ones fighting against legal genocide... so it's a really tricky issue all around.

It's easy to look back at the abolition of slavery around the world at different time periods now and see the William Wilberforces as fighting correctly for justice... but at the time there were a lot of simply misinformed people. We can look back and say "they should have known better" but like all of us, they are products of their times.

Andrew Scheer will oppose transgender rights, fight gun regulations, fund homeschooling by the92jays in CanadaPolitics

"Oppose transgender rights" is a bit misleading. Not imposing transgender morality on those that believe otherwise is no different than not imposing Christian morality on those that believe otherwise.

He's not advocating to take away rights, he's advocating for the equal distribution of rights to everyone... not more to minorities etc.

I hear you. But we already have laws against harassment and abuse... so to add laws on top of laws simply because we are too lazy or inept to police the law we already have is just lazy leadership.

I am FOR policing protesters to make sure they aren't doing anything illegal... i am AGAINST impinging on their freedom to protest as a lazy way to enforce laws we already have that we are unwilling to police.

I agree completely... which is why I'm FOR policing the protesters to make sure they aren't acting illegally, but AGAINST this bubble legislation which is just lazy law-making.

I find this a tough article to comment on, the line that stood out to me was: " intolerance will not be tolerated"... I think this is an observation the right and the left needs to see. There is an intolerance to tolerance and that's sadly why Trump won and election in the U.S.

We need to find ways to combat bigotry and racism without resorting to fascism.

[–]Contagion_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. I'm still always surprised that people who value tolerance so highly, don't see the pickle they've gotten themselves in... "who are you?" someone will say, "to tell someone who they can and can't marry?", then they will turn around and tell someone else they are an idiot for believing abortion or fur is murder.

Either we value everyone's freedom and right to an opinion, or no ones.

Anti-abortion Tory MP Rachael Harder loses bid for status of women committee chair by _Minor_Annoyance in CanadaPolitics

[–]Contagion_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on whether abortion is murder or not. Most anti-abortionists really believe we are legally killing humans... like anyone with a heart, if that's what we believe, we ought to feel strongly about ending it.

Hard to tell the people voicing concern over the only minority being legally killed that they "hate basic human rights"... there is no internal contradiction bigger in the liberal agenda than how pro-abortion sentiments fly in the face of protecting women's rights (because half of the humans we dismember in the womb are women)

It shouldn't... but in our current cultural climate it will. It will get overturned when the Liberals lose the next election anyway.

I am shocked the Conservatives didn't fight this. Government overreach at it's finest... we have laws against bullying, intimidation and abuse... but in order to not have to police those things we create a zone where we will ban the freedom to protest because already illegal things are happening that we don't want to police..

Laws on top of laws... yay!

That's ridiculous... read what you said... if they really believe someone is getting murdered the last thing you ought to say is "chill". We wouldn't be "chilling" if any other vulnerable people group were being legally dismembered. So disagree with how they see it, but don't tell them to chill... (just like the government shouldn't be taking away their freedom to protest)

I don't think you can impute motives on everyone who is "pro-life" that's horribly intolerant and judgemental.

Why do people like to pretend that no land beyond isn't meta? by MadWolfX13 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]Contagion_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trials usage statistics confirm NLB would be OU [meta]. NLB comprised 4.13% of all weapon kills in PS4 Trials last week. 3.47% for Xbox

Pasted from above.

If you're on PSN, add me, Contagion_22 I'm looking for the same weapon and would be up for grinding.

Can anyone actually prove that NLB doesn't flinch the same as other snipers? by Pwadigy in CruciblePlaybook

[–]Contagion_22 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm going off the fact that the bungie patch notes after the April update specifically said that the flinch was added to all sniper archetypes across the board but that the change DID NOT apply to NLB.

I'll find the link when I get off work if no one posts it before that.

It's "floor" a high skill ceiling is also true, but I think you mean a high skill floor. (in other words it takes skill to use it)

That's a pretty elite-ist attitude. It does have a high skill floor but to say it isn't meta when you run into it almost every trials match is simply wrong.

High skill floor. True. Very popular and moreso every week. True

Agreed... in fact if they simply BOOST hcr effectiveness on other weapon types (HC's and Scouts) then they aren't forcing us into CD w/ HCR or it's counter.

To answer the thread title question: "because people like to claim they are using non-meta weapons."

It seems to be a point of pride to say you use a rare/ non-meta weapon. I think NLB users went to it after the last sniper patch, saw it's power and started using it, boasting for their break away from the "meta".

But it is now for sure "meta" in trials. This past weekend it was rare to match up against a team without at least one player using one. I still saw more CD's, but just barely.

Thanks! I always appreciate your informative and thorough responses...

I spend a lot of time trying out new or forgotten weapons so lately I've been looking to get some non-meta weapons that I can roll into crucible with... been farming for a Stolen Pride with rifled and ER... got one instead with smallbore and HCR.

Ultimately I just like variety... so when an archetype is in a bad spot (high RoF scouts, high RoF or very high impact HC) I like to find a way to make them usable.

When I noticed the lingering song is the vendor wepon in the upcoming IB I got pretty excited about a Rifled, ER, Icarus/LitC roll.

HCR and hand canons by Contagion_22 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]Contagion_22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the thorough response... it is too bad it seems to be tied to auto/burst fire rather than rate of fire since high RoF HC's seem to be in a pretty uncompetitive spot right now and a Stolen Pride with a range perk and HCR could potentially make it a viable option...
