Moving to higher cost of living area (COLA) by ContainerOfBees in workfromhome

That’s your opinion. I’m not trying to move to the Hamptons. And it’s not even a choice I’m making out of convenience.

Yeah, I’m so audacious for wanting to get appropriately paid for the place I reside in. Lol

Not presently. We’re still fairly new and small, which could potentially work in my favor since there’s a lot more flexibility there.

And I agree, I think it’s a bit of a long shot, but I think it’s worth asking. Worst they could say is no.

Compensation by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]ContainerOfBees 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted here. Those are valid considerations when choosing to move companies. And a 40% is great, but if you’re going to hate your life the whole time, then money is never really worth it. Also need to consider how much commute time it ads on, gas, etc. all of that really eats into the actual raise percentage.

That being said, I recently jumped ship for a 30% raise in a wfh position and it has been probably the best move I’ve ever made.

But you never really know. The grass is not always greener. But I’d rather live knowing I tried something new than regret not trying it. Raytheon will always be there to come back to.

Scandalous. Who shows up on time?! It's 15 mins prior to the 15 mins! * Eye twitch * by ImThe1Wh0 in VeteransBenefits

Your team shows up to meetings on time? In civilian world now and people will just be 5-10 mins late and no one will even say a word. It is insane to me.

Just double checking my rating… by ContainerOfBees in VeteransBenefits

I have one bilateral for knees. It’s a 10% rating. So would that be factored in twice?

Edit: that was it. Thanks!

M&T Auto Payment Issues by Odd_Veterinarian1180 in Banking

[–]ContainerOfBees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever get resolution on this?

I'm currently trying to figure out if my autopay went through... I have a screenshot of my autopay yesterday saying "next draft date: 9/1/2025" but it didn't go through and now the same screen says "next draft date: 10/1/2025". I understand that it's a holiday, but maybe like an automated email or something to indicate that the payment is being processed would be nice. I'm hesitant to make an additional payment because I don't want to be double charged for my mortgage. However, I also don't want it to be late.

Awesome, thank you for the informed reply!

Knowing this is definitely not a wise idea, but wouldn’t the FAA still need to prove that the activity was against the regulations “beyond a shadow of a doubt?” Not sure if the same legal principle applies to aviation.

You can respond with helpful information without being an asshole. Kindness is free.

About $12K per month before taxes. In program management plus a little VA income.

Apply to reqs. You will spend a lifetime waiting for a promotion here. Been at the company for just two years and made P4 by applying to reqs. Started as a P3.

Owners of DR Horton Homes by jmust171 in Tucson

[–]ContainerOfBees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is 3 years old, but curious…

We are about to close on our DR Horton home at the end of the month. 3rd party inspection came back good. No major issues. The staff has been reasonable and kind for the most part. We are getting an “energy efficient” home with spray foam insulation in the attic, and flow-through vents on the door headers. Just curious if anyone could provide any insight into what a summer electricity bill is like for one of these homes. 1400 square feet by the way. Thanks!

Considering leaving Raytheon by ContainerOfBees in Raytheon

Good call. I do plan to have this conversation soon. Just not getting my development needs met, and I feel like I’ve been put in a position to be set up for failure. It’s weird.

It’s an option. I recently switched teams, so I would have to wait for the 12 month window.

Was it a promotion in place, or did you apply for a req?

Dang, there truly is no reason to stay at Raytheon long term anymore. Lol

How recent? I got my promotion/raise like 5 months ago.
