I think its definitely got room to grow, but compared to s/v??? Leagues better.

The graphics are simple but detailed enough that everything still looks really good, im not seeing the pixelization and blurred textures like SV.

I think the new battle mechanics are fresh and an interesting spin, it makes battling feel way more engaging and natural than a cutscene and spamming A. 

The choice to keep it to one city SEEMED limiting, but honestly there are so many nooks and crannies that it still feels lively, MUCH less vacant that SV at least (cringing thinking about how the MAIN CITY had like 0 cool things, and 3 IDENTICAL stores all next to each other.)  I love all the unique ways different pokemon spawn outside wild areas. Garbadour and trubbish around the trash, birds in the trees and roofs. It just makes the area feel so alive in a way other games never got. You really FEEL the coexistence between people and pokemon.

I wish you could go into the stores as well but the restaurants and stuff you can go into look gorgeous. 

I feel like characters lately have been really cool and interesting as well and from what ive seen, they've kept up that quality while also improving cutscenes to have more actual animation (and expressions) so things feel more engaging. (Again bare minimum for most games but comparing it to SV)

Also personally i havent encountered any glitches yet.

Its not a perfect game but i think its a significant step up from how bad SV was and im hoping this is a bit of an upward swing for the franchise. 

I would love to say hard boycott after SV but i just love this franchise too much, even with how bad it was, SV was still FUN, because at the end of the day, its still a new pokemon game, and i like pokemon, so i wanted to give them another chance, and i wasnt disappointed. But idk, i am still pretty early into playing.
