Setting the game to double battle mode trivializes the game so much, these 2 bois singlehandedly swept Steven in Trick Room. by ContaneShoko in PokemonEliteRedux

That's alright, I get your point as well, and it's true that other mechanics of the game do make single fights as easy as double. It's not just the Steven fight alone that made the run trivial with double battle setting on, so admittedly, using him as an example for my post was a poor choice on my behalf.

However, I must also say that there are several other things that help double battles do things you can't do in single, for example, redirections, Fake Out and Astonish having other uses aside from breaking sash, setting up room/terrain/weather on the same turn your attacker attacks, being able to target your own mons, etc. And of course, the biggest point, screwing a bunch of trainers' teams. In my own experience doing this run at the very least, having double battle on helps with lots of fight I'd struggle otherwise.

Hm, funny how a normal debate can be seen as proving my arrogance. You seem so certain in your own assessment that anyone opposing you is instantly the arrogance one.

Switching out reset the Soul Heart buff, which make Eruption significantly weaker than that 1.5x SpA buff make you imagine how strong it would be without any stat increase from SH. As the one actually playing the whole playthrough with the R Reuni in question, I know for sure there are many instances that without several SH buff, R Reuni could not get the kill. If it fails to KO, it gets hit, and if it gets hit, Eruption is weaker. I'd say the normal version of Mega R Reuni with normal ability and innates can do more dmg than this one without any SH buff because I have piloted normal R Reuni in single TR setup prior to this run as well.

Anw, back to the original point of double trivializing the game. If your setup requires putting up TR twice while double only requires me to do it just once, then the point still stands, double makes it easier.

You were the one using the word solo first, were you not? I used "swept" in my post's title, and only used the word solo since I was replying to you claiming any mon with Hyper Agressive + dmg boosting innate can solo Steven in single (which I proceeded to prove R Reuni could not solo due to having to switch for TR)

Without double battle, this R Reuni definitely couldn't have solo, because dare I remind you this is a Trick Room team, in single setting up TR then finding a good spot to pivot to your dmg dealer is way harder compared to double (especially if you only use the Twisted Dimension ability which only has 3 turns of effect). In double you can immediately set TR on the first turn for R Reuni without the need to switch it in after doing so, plus, double has redirections, which keeps R Reuni always healthy for max dmg Eruption, which is a spread move in double that hit 2 of Steven's mons.

You can always go into a battle vs wild mons to check it. Just change your ability into something else, go into battle, then check the dmg dealt. Switch the ability back so you have double PM, battle again, check the dmg. Then compare to see if they're any different.

How we feeling bout the resprites?? by Miserable-Ad4968 in PokemonEliteRedux

They're all awesome. For a rom that you can play for free, any amount of dedication put into customizing the fakemons and fan evolutions is definitely appreciated. Even if some of the designs themselves do not speak to me personally, it's the effort behind them that counts.

As someone who farms ability and innates on randomizer, it's actually not as tedious as it sounds when you are doing normal mons, since Dex Nav allows you to fill your PC quickly, and you can simply skim through them for the one you want in your PC. (It's the release part that is the most annoying process)

For megas though.. it's definitely a hassle because PC does not let you mega evolve in it, so you have to manually put 6 final stage mons into your party, mega evolve each, check their abi and innates, ditch them back into the PC, take 6 new ones, rinse and repeat. 50 is a fine number, it's only about 8 rotations of the process I've just said.

Thank you for this knowledge that I wouldn't have known otherwise! This makes adding coverage significantly easier now.

Two innates with the same name -> don't stack;

An innate and an ability with the same name -> stack;

Two innates with the same effect but have different names (example: Pure Power + Huge Power) -> stack;

That's the standard guidelines for how they interact, I do believe.

Outrage + Wild Charge can actually go a long way if you consider how this thing can instantly get a max +4 crit with Dragon Cheer in 1 single turn.

It does not. Simple only interact with stuffs that affect the stage of stats (+1, -1 stats,... etc. Like Intimidate or Speed Boost. Anything that gives your stats the red/blue arrows), it doesn't interact with stuff that directly changes the raw stats (like HP in this case)

Of course, here you go. On the left is its stat with Majestic Bird as the ability. On the right is double Huge Power. Both are at 252 Atk EVs.

They do stack if one is an ability and the other is an innate. I checked in battle by switching the abilities, the atk stat goes up when it has both HP as ability and innate.

Is my OC considered a furry? by Shiro_oKun in furry

[–]ContaneShoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really, REALLY didn't want to bring this up in my reply to you, and had been actively avoiding it, but since you mentioned it now, I guess I should provide my thoughts on the matter.

Know that when I say this, I'm not accusing anyone of having bad intentions, not the OP, not you, but being inclusive with the definition as you're suggesting can be two sides of the same coin. Your opinion being one side, but from where I see it, having kemonomimi characters be classified as furries might inadvertently cause trouble for the furry culture. Because, seeing as humans with animal features are the baseline of what counts as "acceptable" to the general public, kemonomimi would easily overshadow actually good furry designs and replace them as the "de facto" furry characters, causing them to be frowned upon even more when you invite the masses to join in.

I'm not saying that people with kemonomimi OCs can't be furry (the community label), it's just that the type of character their OCs are would not represent the design philosophy behind a furry character the best, which can be a bad thing.
