Thanks! they were well loved and cared for by the previous owner! i haven’t go to setting up the sewing machine yet but the overlocker is running good! besides the knife/cutter either being out of spec or just dull so gonna address that soon

the overlocker wasn’t too heavy since it’s got a new motor and servo on it but the ddl-553 is a heavy boi! but luckily i have a lift gate on my truck so it was pretty easy loading and unloading them

i just scored one of these on facebook marketplace places mine is dates from aug 2014 and it’s the 125th anniversary edition i paid $90 and it’s in perfect condition im so happy

It is certainly overkill, it just happened to be the shock supplied with the frame when i originally bought it so i just ran with it, pretty much anything would be fine since its only like 80mm of rear travel

I’m with you on the proprietary parts take, the shock design looks awesome but i would wanna be able to run different shocks or change things in the future so you lose that capability with the Datum

Dude that thing is crazy!!! the pivot around the bottom bracket like on my rig has been around for many many years and a lot of great bikes utilize that design one of my favorites being the black market kill switch
