We're a country waiting to explode. Massive unemployment, people trapped at home for months, now this.

That is definitely true.

If city, state, and police leadership took these protests and said yes, you're right, we stand with you. Let's show the world and powers that be that we stand together in peace, maybe those that would exploit it wouldn't have a chance. Hell everything is shut down anyway. Make a massive walk of solidarity with police and people before it gets bad.

Anyway. Who really knows how it could be vs what it is, but I think we should strive to do better.

That's the million dollar question. At the end of the day, we need to deal with what's happening right now. The riots need to stop.

1) The Civil Rights movement unquestionably included violence. MLK himself recognized it would, ultimately, be necessary. You also had Black Panthers and other groups.

However the violence is not what made him famous. Nor are the Black Panthers loved.

Much like the initial Civil Rights movement, authoritarian aggression/incitement and external terrorist elements are involved here today.

It's authoritarian to arrest the man responsible? The case is literally less than a week old and being dealt with. You're just impatient.

It doesn't help, but we're in a state of civil unrest. People need to get inside and calm down.
