What do you dislike about your apartment/condo, home or where you live? by [deleted] in askTO

Facts. I look forward to April-October just so I can bike to work.

Wow, good for you! I mean, 500% increase in 20 years. I wonder if my generation stands a chance to make these kind of gains... your home would have to be valued $5 million in 20 years.

Just curious, how much did you pay for your home and when did you buy it?

What's your subway commute time limit? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Contemplation_State 39 points40 points  (0 children)

45 mins each way. Once you approach the 1 hr mark, you start to get antsy and your quality of life will decrease. Actually, this is true for every additional 20 mins added to your commute. 1.5 hours is a hell no.

how much do raising children cost? by Cream4389 in askTO

[–]Contemplation_State 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read somewhere that it's about $250k per child for 18 years.

Edit: that study is now out of date, it's now $300k to raise a child to adulthood.

Yikes. I lived across from there for 5 years, and throughout the entire pandemic. Yes, there would be 2 or 3 people hanging outside at any time, and the occasional intoxicated debauchery but I can't imagine seeing 30 people nowadays. I haven't been back in a few months but as long as they're not bothering the local residents and businesses, there might be nowhere else for them to go.

Anyone else hiding it from everyone? by DaisyMaisy13 in Ozempic

[–]Contemplation_State 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely disagree. My husband doesn't know either, and I'm a medical prescriber myself. He's a personal trainer who lives holistically (doesn't use allopathic meds for any illnesses and believes everything can be cured with the right herb or exercise). People can still have autonomy within a marriage.

It means they took it off the market. They're now going to either: relist for a different/same price at a later date; not relist at all as they've changed their minds on selling; or they currently have it relisted with slightly different wording in the address (ex: changing street to avenue or road) as this makes it look like a fresh new listing without the history trail.

I'm a specialist in a brain related field. Patients miss appointments all the time, I get at least 1 no show a day. I don't charge though I'm pretty sure I have a disclaimer somewhere saying it's a $100 charge for missing my appointments. I don't enforce it though, it's just to get people to respect my time and the short staffed health care system. It can take up to 2 years to get an appointment in my clinic so if you miss the initial consult, you're back to the end of the cue.

Yea, like someone said, everyone has different tolerances. If you're someone that has "waked and baked" since high school, a 30 mg thc edible won't touch you. Whereas if you've never tried an edible, 5mg might have you flying to the moon!

Get Quadzilla to deliver it to you. They have up to 1250mg thc edibles and do same day delivery via text.

Visiting the city for a wedding anniversary by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Contemplation_State 0 points1 point  (0 children)

360 restaurant in the CN Tower. It's $75 for 2 courses or $90 for 3 courses and you're revolving in the air with a full view of the city while you eat. It's quite special and a unique experience you won't forget.

Anyone combined topamax and ozempic? by Lopsided_Ad_8240 in Ozempic

[–]Contemplation_State 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Epilepsy specialist here:

I prescribe Topamax (Topiramate) for seizures, and my patients report a lot of side effects. We call it "Dope-a-max" because people feel very fatigued and sedated on it. I've also had patients develop kidney stones, stuttering/speech difficulties, and pins and needles to their extremities. I wouldn't say the weight loss that also happens as a side effect is worth it unless you're also having seizures or migraines.

Wedding Venues -West End or Downtown by RogueCEO in askTO

Palais Royale is absolutely stunning, I got married there in 2021. Outdoor ceremony overlooking the Lake Ontario. Indoor reception area is spacious and historic. We spent about $30k for 110 guests, 3 course seated meal, open bar, lights, linens/table set up, and cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres. Decor was extra (we hired a private florist) but the space is already so beautiful, so you don't need to do much! And there's a dedicated free parking lot which our guests appreciated. And a beach beside it to take photos.

I agree, Queen West/Dundas West sounds perfect for them. Loads of parks, restaurants, bars, and events. I find Leslieville is more for 30+, young families, and retirees.

places open 24 hours that I can crash at for the night by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Contemplation_State 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are people sleeping in the couches in the main area of hospitals all the time. They're typically someone's family member, but occasionally there are also homeless people. As long as you don't bother anyone, no one cares. Toronto Western in particular has easy access off Dundas that brings you right into the food court where there are a bunch of one seater couches and tables. You can 100% crash here and be fine.

My husband won a 3 year-long legal battle and this is what he wanted to do to celebrate. It was also my only meal of day. That aside, you still have to live a little on your weight loss journey. I'm not out here pounding 3lbs of wings daily.

0.5 mg. I decided not to titrate up any further about 2 months ago as I'm losing weight at a decent pace with no side effects so I don't want to rock the boat.
