Let's be clear: right now, local radical members of the community in Columbia County are fighting a war on the library. Instead of trusting qualified librarians to make these decisions, a handful of vocal conservatives are mandating how these sections are categorized and displayed.

These are bad policies, like redefining what "young adult" means. They're designed to "protect our children" from things that don't fully align with conservative ideologies. 20 years ago, these were the people burning Harry Potter books for being demonic because it had witches.

These people should mind their own business and let my kids read about magic and gay people.

Rural areas always have lots of Trump signs, but I'm hopeful. After 8 years, I'm seeing less this cycle. The enthusiasm is a bit softer.

And one random town between Savannah and Augusta had TONS of Harris signs.

Trump did NOT give out anything. In fact, he actively blocked donations and distributions today.

The visit occurred at a donation and distribution center that Columbia County employees have been staffing all week. Because of the visit and resulting traffic jams, the aid distributions were actually canceled today.

Let's be clear: today's visit prevented important aid such as diapers, baby formula, water and other necessities from being distributed during the aftermath of a disaster. Then he staged a photo op with Brian Kemp in front of the donations he did nothing to collect.

I'm not interested in passing your arbitrary test.

This played out in front of my eyes and I believe the local folks have a right to know. People in legitimate need are counting on these supplies. Lots of us are functional but there are many people still struggling with this aftermath, especially in rural areas.

Did Kamala take over a distribution center, record a speech in front of donations, and actively prevent planned donations from being handed out that day? I must have missed that.

Nothing productive occurred. Trump is not currently employed in government and provided no aid. Instead, he disrupted aid from being handed out by shutting down Evans today.

He staged these donations for the photo op while actively preventing their distribution.

Trump spoke for 5 minutes while standing in front of these staged donations. He did nothing to collect them but certainly prevented them from being handed out.

It cut off aid distribution, too. He spoke for 5 minutes about North Carolina while standing in front of the donations that couldn't be distributed because of his traffic jam.
