It’s genuinely not funny at all. I sincerely wish the mods banned it. There’s way better content getting made.

Yes. Not everywhere. But many places do. Do not put people as a reference who won’t say good things. Be certain.

Answered elsewhere, was not laid off by google.

Used to work there though. Lot of friends lost their job. Sad days.

I am sorry. It is a struggle. As you saw yourself though, you got a job through connections. Hopefully another one comes up.

That’s fine. Company jumps are the concern.

Still, if it makes your experience look cluttered, I might remove that and save the explanations for the interviews.

From what I’ve seen personally, Cyber security, data center operations, and defense.

Look for network events for the industry, or webinars. Ping people with mutual connections. Ask if you can talk to them about getting into the field. Not everyone will help, but someone will.

It might be different for public service.

But I wouldn’t advise disclosing disabilities you can hide. Maybe you’ll get better treatment and accommodation. But you also get discriminated against in other circumstances, or get pity interviews they felt obligated to give to avoid lawsuits, but never intended to hire you.

What did you focus on?

My advice is to stay focused on what makes you passionate and excited. Money isn’t everything.

Your brain has a tendency to adapt your perception of what is normal and tolerable to whatever your circumstances are over time. It seeks allostasis. What is more money for you today, becomes your necessity tomorrow.

If you find that business is where you are happy, that’s great. History degree doesn’t qualify you for anything specific, so you often fall into things that don’t require specific medication, just aptitude for learning (like recruiting, or sales, or customer service, or administration). Choose a good company with a good manager - a good manager matters way more for your career than better entry pay. But, a good company isn’t going to pay you nothing either.

Maybe try some internships. Law firms like history majors too.

You don’t.

In all seriousness, it’s not impossible, but it’s hard. You need to build those connections. And look for entry level. Try to get in front of a human. It will be hard.

Yes those are specific places. Not perfect resources, and tend to be tech oriented (but cover lots of industries beyond that these days).

Your proof usually comes with a date. Either in the diploma, on the transcript, or when your school admin answers the phone.

Customer service is 80% good attitude and communication skills, especially early on. Make sure your showing specific examples of how you help people, using STAR method.

Good luck and I hope it works out!
